On Sunday afternoon, Sassuolo visited Jens Stryger Larsen's employer Udinese in northeastern Italy. The Danish wingback was not present, but that did not stop Udinese from snatching the three points.
The first half featured as many as four goals and high intensity. Already within the first ten minutes, the home team got the ball in the net by the former FC Barcelona talent Gerard Deulofeu.
However, the quick joy at the Stadio Friuli in Udine was soon after slowed down by an equalizer put in by Sassuolo profile Domenico Berardi. When the stadium clock approached half an hour, it was crazy again for the home team. Davide Frattesi sent the ball into the net for the Sassuolo lead before the Sassuolo player equalized his own lead with an own goal.
The second half was a different tactical affair. At the start of the half, Udinese managed to put themselves in front with 3-2 by the Portuguese striker Beto. After that, both teams had a hard time creating great opportunities, and the two teams' organization made it difficult for the opponent.
Shortly before the final whistle, Udinese were throwing a stick in the wheel at themselves when midfielder Jean-Victor Makengo received his second warning and thus marching order. Although Sassuolo tried, they could not pry Udinese's defensive up in the last minutes, so the home team snatched the three points.
The result means that Sassuolo has not won over Udinese in the last two matches of the two teams. In addition, Udinese got their first win in ten Serie A rounds. For the Serie A table, the result means that Udinese is now on point with Sassuolo. However, both teams are still part of the bottom half, five points above the relegation line.
