The La Liga opener between FC Barcelona and Real Betis was full of action.
FC Barcelona looked to come back from their disastrous fixtures against Real Madrid. After starting the season on a bad note, losing Neymar and not being able to sign any replacement till now, FCB had some positivity winning the first fixture against a good Real Betis team.
After the very unfortunate attack in Barcelona, the players wore BARCELONA on their shirts instead of their names in memory for the victims.
Barcelona started the match with a very high pressing game. Sergi Roberto was selected to play the attacking mid field role as well as provide the first level of defensive pressure., which in my opinion, he did well. He should his brilliance in attack with a lot of chances and eventually a brilliant team goal. Alcacer started as the main striker with Suarez out injured for a month and he could not replicate what the ex Liverpool man does with ease. His movement was restricted and was often caught offside. The first goal came from a good skill move from Deulefue on the right wing. His involvement in the game was very positive. Both the Barcelona goals coming from his assists. He showed confidence as well as composure. The stand out of the match was that Messi hit the post three times. Its the first time that he has hit the post three times in a match without scoring.
Real Betis showed signs of the threat they are in attack with experienced and quick players that they have. There were a lot of chances created by Betis in the second half and they came very close to scoring on a few occasions.
It was very important for Barcelona to come back from the bad start to the season and they did that.
Barcelona still needs to make the transfers happen as soon as possible because the squad still shows signs of being broken and Barcelona need players. There is still time till the transfer window closes and I think barcelona will go for the targets that they have.
