England's most successful team, Manchester United advanced to the fourth round if the English FA cup with a thrilling 4 nil victory over lower-tier side- Reading.
The English power house began like a house on fire and got the first goal in less than 10 minutes of play through Wayne Rooney who by virtue of that goal became tied with Sir Bobby Charlton as Manchester United all time leading goalscorer.
By the 15th minute, the game was virtually over as Anthony Martial doubled Man United's lead. It was now a matter of how many the home side would score. The game became more competitive as an injury blow to United was the only major highlight of the first half. Argentine defender Marcos Rojo was withdrawn in what was suspected to be a groin injury. It could be a massive blow for Man United as the defender could be missing in their pursuit of a Cup double as the face Hull City on tuesday night in the first leg of their EFL cup semi-final.
Two late goals from teenage striker Marcus Rashford summed up the afternoon for the home side and their opponent would plan for their next league match as they are out of the FA cup. Coach Jose Mourinho gave playing time to some fringe players like Ashley Young and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Manchester United await the draw for the 6th round of the competition to know their next opponent.
