Is finishing on Alii Drive one of your goals? And would you like to participate with world class material and a superb preparation? Zwift Academy Tri Team is willing to offer you this chance by opening up places and material for everyone with an existing Level 10 Zwift account. After selection four athletes will receive the full package.
“Zwift Academy is a very successful formula in the discovery of world class athletes, but it is also a great way to connect the community,” says Eric Min, Zwift Co-Founder and CEO. Indeed, the partnership with Canyon/SRAM Racing and Team Dimension Data has put three riders in the pro-cycling peloton. With the implementation of Zwift Run the focus will shift towards triathlon and more specific the Ironman World Championships at Kona, Hawaii. “Our approach to triathlon will be somewhat different. We have decided to emphasize on age groupers who have the ambition to get the best result possible. With the unique input of Specialized our team will have world class support and Zwift’s worldwide community will get the opportunity to train among the Academy athletes, their godfathers and their coaches. This all fits in the context of creating the biggest worldwide triathlon training community,” says Eric.
What support are we talking about? For starters: smarttrainers and treadmills; how else would one Zwift? But there is more, much more. Retül Fitting and Wind Tunnel Testing in Specialized’s headquarters at Morgan Hill, California, all aiming to optimize your personal S-Works Shiv, S-Works 7 road racing shoes, S-Works Evade helmet and Specialized racing kit.
Coaching with that little extra
To present the whole package on a nice plate all this is combined with a coaching packet from Zwift itself, under supervision of Ironman World Record Holder Tim Don. Among the coaches we can also find Hawaii 20017’s number 2, Specialized athlete Lucy Charles. Next to material and coaching Zwift also provides a budget for the athletes qualification. 1500USD is planned for a qualifier at your own choice and Zwift is willing to pay for registration, flight and accommodation in case of qualification for the Kona Ironman World Championships.
Registration for the Team can be done until Sunday, March 18th via this link.
