I think we all know that the sporting industry is a huge industry, but which sports makes the most money.
What is the sporting industry?
Sport industry is a market in which people, activities, business, and organizations involved in producing, facilitating, promoting, or organizing any activity, experience, or business enterprise focused on sports. It is the market in which the businesses are products offered to its buyers are sports related and may be goods, services, people, places, or ideas
Top Sports Leagues
The image below show the 20 Sports teams with the revenue shown above each of their logo's
Again Soccer or Football as it is known in the most countries in the world makes it clear that is a very popular sport.
But what about the highest paid athletes?
Again we have a football player heading the list. I think it is not unexpected when we look at the amount of revenue flowing in the game.
These highly paid athletes, which has reached the pinnacle of their careers, does not represent a fraction of the massive amount of people playing sports.

This is a great information regarding the world of sport.
It is our pleasure
Very informative! Didn't know Federer leads the world in sports endorsements.
Its a good game but I am not interested
LOL, we all have our preferences
Interesting post @sportspodium. Thank you.
It´s unbelievable what these top-athletes earn.
My thought is: Do they really "earn" those amounts of money?
Yes it is crazy at face value, but one needs to put it in perspective. The average business person earns far more than the average athlete. And you have far more opportunity than the average athlete. Also if you take the top 1% of earners in the business space and compare it to sports people, I think this will not be as out of kilter as it seems in isolation. Thanks for your comments
Although the NFL and MLB have greater economic influence, the most paid athletes are of soccer, basketball, motor ..., interesting article.
yeah . But basket ball is the greater one
that's normal because i love basket ball .
LOL
The shear size of USA economy distorts the numbers, thus drawing a disportionate into the US centric sports. That is why sports such as Rugby and Soccer are working so hard to get into the US as major sports
Here in France always heard the following : #1 Football, #2 F1 (auto racing), #3 Golf ! I knew it couldnt make it internationally
Thanks for the share. As a South African we grew up with Rugby and Cricket, but Soccer is our largest played sport (although by far not the wealthiest)
Soccer (actually football) is the most dominant sport in the world. Football players are most expensive and they earn shipload of money each week.
FIFA, the governing body of Football, has more members than United Nations.
