Be PERFECT !

There’s a test series going on between India & England and today was the day 4 of its 3rd test match.

India was in a commanding position while the two tailenders Adil Rashid & Stuart Broad were struggling on the crease after England were 8 wickets down for 241 in their 2nd inning chasing a massive target of 521.

On the 3rd delivery of the 87th over of England’s 2nd inning Adil Rashid nicked in a perfect back of a length delivery just outside off from Jasprit Bumrah. The catch was taken comfortably at the slip.

It was supposed to be the penultimate nail in the coffin & England’s inning was about to be wrapped up. But, Aleem Dar checked & declared it to be a no-ball. Adil Rashid survived & eventually finished the day being not out.

Was there anything wrong with that delivery from Bumrah ?

Was there any advantage Bumrah got by pitching his feet ahead of an inch than where it was supposed to be ?

Was that delivery about to be not so perfect if it was bowled behind from the popping crease ?

Answer to all these questions - Probably NO.

It’s just like every other worthy delivery deserving a wicket. But there was a certain imperfection which denied the reward to the bowler.

It doesn’t matter whether your mistakes are going to affect the outcome or not. Even if it doesn’t, it’s still a mistake. You can’t miss your mark even by an inch. It has to be a hundred percent from your end.

You have to be PERFECT. Right ?

Resembles quite a lot with events from our daily lives. Isn’t it ?
