The Real Madrid coach and former French team player Zinedine Zidane said he was not proud of an incident in the 2006 World Cup finals by Italian player Marco Matirakzi.
In a news interview for French media, Zidane said he was not proud of what he did in the World Cup finals, adding that "it is part of my career and I must accept it."
When he and his father were shown a videotape during the interview, he cried Zidane and said, "My father is my idol in life, I seek to raise my children like he did."
Italy was crowned by the 2006 World Cup after winning France in the final match, which saw the expulsion of Zidane because of the resurrection of Matirakzi during the course of the meeting.
