Welcome along, fellow Steemians, to Day 1 of a brand new Trixie Challenge where I will pit my horse racing wits against the luck of @happyaslarry.
Each day both of us will be placing a £2 trixie (50p win or 25p ew) on the UK horse racing and the one with most money in the pot after 25 days will be declared the winner. However, the fun part is this; whilst I will be studying form, using my bonce and generally putting in some hard(ish) work, @happyaslarry will be choosing his horses by name only. The object of the exercise? To prove once and for all whether judgement is better than luck or if horse racing is, as I have long suspected, something of a lottery.
Wherever possible, @happyaslarry will send some insight into his choices, that we might learn a little of how his strange mind functions. Here’s what he has to say today:
The first selections are in. Todays theme shouldn’t be too difficult to work out. Why not start off with selections linked to this crazy mission. All of our gambling is because we are on a gold patrol, hoping that the dream machine will pay out. And who knows, this might work!
I have used my usual selection process, a complex blend of form, going, racing post rating versus official rating, jockey preference and so on and so forth. Briony Frost is on board one which I am pretty happy about, otherwise if I’m brutally honest, I quite like the look of Luck’s horses here.
May the best Steemian win...
Luck’s horses of fortune.
Judgement, nought but logic.
Starting pots: £50 each.

Judgement yesterday: £n/a

Judgement total returns: £n/a

This is an exciting project that I’m very happy to throw money away in pursuit of. Good luck Marcus, may we resolves the mysteries of betting once and for all.
Thanks @happyaslarry! Good luck to you too... no cheating now!
Dream Machine. This Might Work. Gold Patrol... man, I'd go with @happyaslarry here :-) Good luck guys!
Don’t take his side, you’ll only encourage him...
