The three Barcelona stars Lionel Messi, Luis Sauarez and Mascherano have been granted extra days to rest over Christmas after their contribution in helping Barcelona win in yesterday's El Classico game against Real Madrid to give them a very comfortable lead on top of the La Liga.
The reigning champions Real Madrid got beaten on their own soil 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu by their fierce rival Barcelona.
The league leaders FC Barcelona team are on their Christmas break now.
"The final whistle at the Bernabeu and the 3-0 victory over Real Madrid marked the beginning of the festive break for the players until their return to training on 30 December. "Luis Surez, Leo Messi and Javier Mascherano all have the club's permission to rejoin the rest of their team mates on in the New Year on 2 January."
