Manchester United are in one of the knockout rounds of the Champions League, hosting Paris Saint-Germain at home for the first leg. The Red Devils are looking to win again a competition in which they have shouted 'champion' on three occasions.
After the five titles of Liverpool, the Manchester team is the English team that most times won the Orejona. They did so in the 1967-68 season, beating Benfica in the decisive match of the then European Cup, in the 1998-99 campaign, defeating Bayern Munich in Barcelona, and in the 2007-08 season, beating Chelsea in the last match and by penalties. In this last conquest, Cristiano Ronaldo became the star of the team, and Alex Ferguson was the coach. The Scot was also the coach in 1999, when they won the tournament at the Camp Nou.
Manchester United have also contested the final in the 2009 and 2011 editions, both lost to Pep Guardiola's Barcelona, Leo Messi and Co.
