This is the final Steemit Scramble for the season! Please note the scoring, rule, and time changes for this week’s contest!

Steemit Scramble Results – TOUR Championship

These are the results for the previous Steemit Scramble:

2nd@kryptocek18

The 2x multiplier was the total number of birdies by Marc Leishman, which was 8. The closest contestant guess came from @misko, who guessed the exact number. As a result, they were able to double their score. Unfortunately, they only scored one point from their golfer selections, so ended up with two points – but also added a five-point bonus for selecting a unique golfer combination.

The September optional special bonus winner for the TOUR Championship was Jordan Spieth. All contestants who selected Jordan Spieth will receive a 50% bonus for their final September score. All contestants who selected Dustin Johnson will lose 25% of their final September score. These optional bonuses can accumulate and cancel each other out, so carefully consider your strategies for this final week!

The total pot for the weekly contest was 22 SBD. The 1st place contestant received 11 SBD, and the 2nd place contestants each received 5.5 SBD. You can find the proof of payout in my Steemit wallet.

Please keep in mind that all points will accumulate for the monthly and season-long contests. This is the final week for the Steemit Scramble contests. Here is the September leaderboard with current special bonuses applied.

The Weekly Steemit Scramble Contest

Tournament Information

Presidents Cup
September 28 – October 1, 2017
Liberty National Golf Club – Jersey City, New Jersey

The PGA Tour heads to New Jersey for the season’s final event – the Presidents Cup, hosted by the Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City. The Presidents Cup matches will be played on the 7328-yard, par-71 course and will consist of foursome, four-ball, and singles matches throughout the weekend. This match-play event pits the top players from the United States against the top players from around the world – not including European players, which play against the United States golfers in the Ryder Cup.

The United States team has won 9 of the 11 Presidents Cup events, which started in 1994. The international team has only won once and the teams tied in 2003 for the first and only time.

The current weather forecast for Sunday in Jersey City has high temperatures near 70 degrees, with light wind and no expected precipitation.

Pairings and tee times for Sunday's matches can be found here after the conclusion of Saturday's matches: Sunday Pairings and Tee Times

Player Selections and Multiplier

For the weekly Steemit Scramble, select THREE GOLFERS FROM EACH TEAM that you believe will perform the best in the singles matches on Sunday. Sunday’s pairings will be unknown until the conclusion of the Saturday match play. Based on the final results of match play, golfers will be assigned the following points, which have changed due to the event format:

ResultsPoints Awarded
Win by 4+5
Win by 34
Win by 23
Win by 12
Tie1

THIS WEEK’S 2x MULTIPLIER: Pick the FINAL SCORE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL TEAM. (The last three Presidents Cups ended with final scores of 19 – 15, 18.5 – 15.5, and 15.5 – 14.5, all in favor of the United States team.) The closest participant(s) to the multiplier statistic will earn DOUBLE their total points for the week. Bonus points will be added to the contestants’ point totals AFTER the multiplier has been calculated.

AN ADDITIONAL 5-POINT BONUS will be awarded for the player with the largest margin of victory in singles matches on Sunday. If multiple players on your team tie for the largest margin of victory, you will still only receive the bonus once.

AN ADDITIONAL 5-POINT BONUS will be awarded for all unique golfer combinations. If two or more contestants choose the same golfers for the contest, then the contestant who entered their selections first will receive the bonus. Contestants that do not select a unique golfer combination will be ineligible for the multiplier and winning golfer bonuses.

Special Bonus for the Month of September (OPTIONAL)

Select the golfer from the choices below that you believe will have a better performance/victory during the singles matches:

Brooks Koepka

Hideki Matsuyama

If you choose the correct golfer, you will receive a 50% bonus for your September points total.

If you choose the incorrect golfer, you will lose 25% from your September points total.

Each week, you can accumulate an additional 50% or lose an additional 25% from your total points for the month, giving you a possible 200% maximum bonus or leaving you with 0 points. This is optional for the final four contests that conclude this week. You can choose to play for this bonus as many times as you like or not at all.

Right/Wrong selections will cancel each other out. If you win the 50% bonus one week then guess incorrectly the next week, no bonus or penalty will be applied to your final points total for the month.

You will only be eligible for this bonus if you have selected a unique golfer combination. If you choose to play for this bonus, make sure you indicate that your golfer selection is your bonus pick. A sample comment with golfer selections for this week’s contest should look like this:

U.S. Team

Justin Thomas
Dustin Johnson
Jordan Spieth

International Team

Hideki Matsuyama
Jason Day
Adam Scott

Multiplier: 12.5 points

Bonus: Brooks Koepka (optional)

How to Play and Win

  1. In a comment on this post, submit your three golfers and your prediction for the weekly multiplier. ONLY ONE COMMENT SUBMISSION PER USER, PER WEEKLY CONTEST.

  2. Submissions will be confirmed at the start of the weekly tournament. ALL CONTEST SUBMISSIONS MUST BE ENTERED PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED START TIME ON SUNDAY (12:00pm ET). Late submissions and any edits after that time will be automatically disqualified from the weekly contest.

  3. There will be three winners each week. The winners will be the contestants with the most points gained, based on the points distribution outlined in Player Selections and Multiplier. All point totals earned from all contestants will carry over for the monthly and season-long contests.

  4. The contest is funded with a minimum pot of 10 SBD. The total weekly pot distribution will be divided as follows:

PlaceRewards Percentage
