What's up people? Today we bring you the main card of UFC 236 on which we'll see two fights for interim titles!
UFC 236 should be another very interesting fighting event. The show will start at State Farm Arena in Atlanta (USA) on April 14th. There are no big names in first three fights of the main event so we'll get right into two title fights which should be the most exciting part of the night.
Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier
Max Holloway has built quite a legacy in UFC Featherweight division. He's currently undefeated in his last 13 fights and he holds a title since Conor McGregor has moved to Lightweight. His last loss was in 2013 when he was only 22 years old and was fighting against future champion (lost on a decision). After that Max has successfully defeated names like Anthony Pettis, Jeremy Stephens, Brian Ortega and Jose Aldo twice. He currently holds 3rd place in longest win streaks of all time right behind Jon Jones and Anderson Silva. It seems that there are no more challenges for Featherweight champ in his division so he decided to move up to Lightweight. If he wins against Dustin Poirier then his next fight will be against a champ that currently holds 4th place in longest win streaks of all time - Khabib Nurmagomedov. There's no doubt in our mind that this could be one of the biggest fights ever in the UFC. Before that happens Max will have to face Dustin 'The Diamond' Poirier who is on a 4 fight win streak with a record of 24-5-0. His last 3 wins were against very respectable fighters such as former champion Eddie Alvarez, Justin Gaethje and Anthony Pettis. 'The Diamond' has already beaten Max Holloway in 2012 via triangle armbar but we all know how much has Holloway improved since then. We think that this is going to be one of the hottest fights of 2019 so don't miss it!
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Israel Adesanya
After Robert Whittaker's injury few months ago, Kelvin Gastelum now got his chance to fight Israel Adesanya for interim belt. This two young fighters are probably the future of Middleweight division and there's no doubt that they'll put on a great show. Gastelum's current record is 15-3-0 with 6 wins by TKO and 4 wins by a submission. He's a very complete fighter with very powerful punches that could surprise even the most experienced opponents. Gastelum has won his last two fights against Ronaldo Souza on a decision and Michael Bisping via brutal KO. On the other side of the cage we have new Middleweight sensation Isreal Adesanya who is a real natural kickboxing talent in every sense of that word. 'The Last Stylebender' currently holds a record of 16-0-0 with 13 wins via TKO. There's no doubt that he's one of the most exciting fighters to watch, especially if you like crowdpleasers such as Israel. Although we didn't see a knockout, his last fight against Anderson Silva was a pure pleasure to watch. Fight went on with a lot of taunting and provoking from both sides and at the end Israel has won the fight on referees decision. Be sure to check this fight out to see what Israel has in store for us this time ;)
Rest Fights of the Main Event:
Eryk Andres vs. Khalil Rountree
Alan Jouban vs. Dwight Grant
Ovince St. Preux vs. Nikita Krylov
