It's no secret that Philippe Coutinho wants to join Barcelona from Liverpool, but when that will happen is anyone's guess at the moment. Liverpool's stance of not wanting to sell in January remains and unless Barca are prepared to spend £150 million, that won't change. But there is hope for the Blaugrana. According to various sources, Liverpool are more open to selling Coutinho now than they were in the summer transfer window. And that would make sense considering Jurgen Klopp, in contrast to last summer, hasn't completely ruled out Coutinho leaving, only that he doesn't feel a need to sell right now.
"No, nobody told me that [I would have to sell Coutinho]," Klopp said Klopp last week. "We have good players and we don't have to sell anybody because of that.
"So fair play to our owners that they are ambitious."
Klopp certainly has a battle on his hands and now the Independent's Ed Malyon and Miguel Delaney have added fuel to the flames with a few claims of their own. Barcelona are reportedly confident they will eventually strike a big-money deal for Coutinho in January, despite Liverpool's resistance. Liverpool v Swansea City - Premier League
As of yet, though, Liverpool haven't received a fresh bid from the Spanish giants. Where Coutinho is concerned, sources state the 25-year-old playmaker is willing to "do anything in the world" to secure a move to Barcelona. And most interestingly, the very least he expects from this January transfer window is to have an agreement in place that would see him swap Anfield for the Camp Nou at the end of the season. That seems to be the best option for Liverpool at the moment. It's understandable that they don't want to lose Coutinho in January, but they can't keep him forever.

So, if the Reds agree with Barcelona to sell their star man in the summer, then they can keep him for the remainder of the season at the very least. It might even be best for Coutinho, considering he's cup tied in the Champions League and wouldn't be able to represent Barcelona in Europe. Stay at Liverpool until the season finishes and the Brazilian can keep competing in the Champions League knowing a dream move is on the horizon.

Coutinho would be no use to barcelona in this season. They already have 9 point lead in La Liga which they will surely win this season. Like you said he is cup tied in the Champions League, So why do barcelona need Coutinho this season for?? To play in copa del rey?? Well it will be waste of £150 million for next 6 months in my opinion.
Totally agree at your point.
