PARA pecinta Dunia Tinju baru saja selesai menyaksikan Duel Besar dua petinju dunia yaitu Floyd Mayweather dengan Conor McGregor di T-Mobile Arena, Minggu (27/8/2017) pagi WIB.

Pada ronde ke-10 tadi wasit menghentikan pertarungan dan menyatakan kemenangan untuk Floyd Mayweather TKO (technical knockout) atas Conor McGregor.

Berbicara dunia tinju tentu kita tidak asing dengan kata KO dan TKO, meski dua-duanya sebutan untuk sebuah kemenangan, namun apakah kalian tahu apa beda dari keduanya. oke sahabat sekalian, saya akan mencoba menjelaskan pada kalian apa perbedaan antara KO dengan TKO.

KO biasanya dikatakan bagi petinju yang kalah akibat pukulan keras lawan, hingga terjatuh diatas ring. jika petinju yang terjatuh tersebut tidak dapat merespon pertanyaan sang wasit sebanyak 10 kali. maka dia dinyatakan kalah KO. 20 kali biasanya jika terpental diluar Ring.

Sebenarnya istilah KO ini digunakan bukan hanya pada cabang olahraga tinju saja. berbagai olahraga seni beladiri lainnya juga menggunakan istilah tersebut seperti : kickboxing, Karat, Kyokushinkai dan sebagainya.

Sedangkan TKO biasanya hanya dikenal pada petinju Profesional saja, dan dengan beberapa alasan wasit menyatakan bahwa petinju tersebut kalah TKO.

*>>1. Karena lawan mengalami pendarahan atau cedera pada anggota tubuh akibat pukulan.

*>>2. Dihentikan karena menurut penilaian Dokter ring lawan secara medis sudah tidak layak untuk melanjutkan pertandingan, sebab itu dokter tersebut menganjurkan pertandingan untuk diberhentikan, namun itu juga merupakan wewenang besar sang wasit.

*>>3. penilaian wasit sendiri yang melihat bahwa sang lawan sudah tidak layak diberlanjutkan pertandingan mungkin karena faktor melemahnya kekuatan lawan.

Itulah beberapa penjelasan terkait KO dan TKO yang sering kita dengan dalam dunia tinju.

Actually the term KO is used not only on the boxing sport only. Various other martial arts sports also use such terms as: kickboxing, karat, kyokushinkai and so on.
