MotoGP: Ducati Remains Assume Dovizioso is the Best Racer

Ducati Corse Sports Director, Paolo Ciabatti, gave a defense to Andrea Dovizioso, who was considered to be having difficulty reaching the MotoGP world title. Ducati thinks Dovizioso is still a top class racer.

Previously, not a few said that Dovizioso would not be as strong as Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo. Ciabatti actually stated that, although he had not won a title in the highest class, Dovizioso remained one of the best riders.

Dovizioso rose to the 2008 MotoGP with Jir-Scot Honda, and moved to Repsol Honda a year later. In 2012, he had defended Monster Tech 3, before being picked up by Ducati in 2013. Dovizioso's journey was not easy, but his patience in spearheading the development of the Desmosedici made him respected.

The Italian rider was kicked off in 2017, where he won six victories. Dovizioso was a big threat to Marc Marquez and Honda in the title race until the closing series. During the last two seasons, Dovizioso became the best Ducati rider and was ranked runner up. Last year, he even bloated his own tandem, Jorge Lorenzo.

"We did not succeed with Jorge, but actually found Dovi very extraordinary. To be honest, nobody thought. Few people thought Dovi would win six times and fight for the title with Marc until the end (2017). Maybe he didn't even expect "Dovi is able to express his talent, thanks to the hard work of his team and the improvement of the motorbike," said Ciabatti.

Some people consider Dovizioso's achievements in the MotoGP event in the last two years an extraordinary achievement, but not a few who think the results in 2018 are proof he is not strong enough against Marquez.
