Welcome to my weekly instalment of Dai’s Super 6 (powered by Dai's Datasheets). 6 games across all of Europe that I believe should be on every betting slip this weekend. I delve deep into 22 separate European football leagues weekly and pick out the best performers to give you the best chance of a return on your investment. For more information on how I do this, and to subscribe and receive up to date statistics weekly in Microsoft Excel format for over 400 football teams, please feel free to check out my website at www.daiharris.com. Dai’s Super 6

  • Chelsea v Southampton (Chelsea Win)
  • Heerenveen v NAC Breda (Heerenveen Win)
  • Stuttgart v Bayern Munich (Bayern Munich Win)
  • Inter v Udinese (Over 2.5 Goals Scored)
  • Cambridge v Newport County (Both Teams to Score)
  • Bournemouth v Liverpool (Over 2.5 Goals Scored)

Betting on a 6-match accumulator, at the time of writing this blog, returns 11/1.

I dig deeper into the rationale behind each prediction below.

English Premiership - Chelsea v Southampton

Prediction: Chelsea Win @ 4/11

Chelsea come into this game with a 62.50% win rate at home, compared to Southampton’s abysmal 14.29% win rate away. Chelsea are scoring on average 1.82 goals per game, while Southampton are conceding on average 1.35 goals per game. Southampton have had a terrible month, losing 50% of games over the past 30 days, while only winning 16.67%. With the backing of the home crowd behind them, I can’t see anything other than a win for the current defending champions.

Dutch Eredivisie - Heerenveen v NAC Breda

Prediction: Heerenveen Win @ 4/7

This game is a bit of a gamble, but all good betting slips should have one. Both teams aren’t performing well in the win market with Heerenveen winning 31.25% of games all season compared to NAC’s 18.75%. Where I think Heerenveen have the advantage is that they come into this game off the back of a morale boosting away draw against Feyenoord mid-week. Heerenveen also have a 7pt lead over NAC in the league table, a superior goal aggregate, and knowing that a win will help take them closer to a Europa League qualifying spot. In comparison, NAC are still firmly cemented at the bottom of the table, involved in an early season relegation battle.

German Bundesliga - Stuttgart v Bayern Munich

Prediction: Bayern Munich Win @ 3/10

While Stuttgart’s home win record this season is impressive on paper (winning 71.43% of games played at home), their overall win record is less than impressive at a mere 31.25%. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, come into this game winning 80% of matches played over the past 30 days and 75% of all games played this season. With Stuttgart sitting in 14th place in the league on -7 aggregate goals and Bayern Munich sitting top of the league with +25 aggregate goals, this has to be a strong contender on any betting slip, and is heavily backed by the bookies.

Italian Serie A - Inter v Udinese

Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals Scored @ 4/7

50% of Inter’s games this season have involved more than 2.5 goals. In comparison, Udinese have been involved in 66.67% of games this season where more than 2.5 goals have been scored. Both teams are averaging more than 1.5 goals per game, with Inter the better performer averaging 2.06 goals per game. With such favourable stats in this market, it’s a difficult fixture to ignore.

English League Two - Cambridge v Newport County

Prediction: Both Teams to Score @ 4/5

Newport County, when playing away this season, have been involved in 54.55% of games where both teams score. In comparison, Cambridge, when playing at home this season, have been involved in 50%. However, Cambridge haven’t been involved in a game where both teams score for the past month making a goal fest long overdue for them, in my opinion. With both teams sitting in 13th and 12th place respectively, I think we’ll see a real battle between these two on Saturday with both teams keen to progress further up the table and nipping at the heels of those in playoff positions.

English Premiership - Bournemouth v Liverpool

Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals Scored @ 4/7

Liverpool come into the game off the back of two low scoring draws in 7 days. It’s a must win game for Klopp’s men as they look to further cement their push for a top 4 position this season, and finish the year on a high, so I’m expecting a big push from the men in red and goals galore. With Liverpool averaging 2 goals per game this season, and with the propensity to also leak goals, this prediction should prove rather safe come Sunday afternoon.
