1 day to go!!!
We have now managed to make arrangements for “Kwesé Free Sports” (KFS) to broadcast 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ in virtually every single country in Sub-Saharan Africa. We are either broadcasting directly or through a local Free-To-Air broadcaster. (Whenever you watch the Kwesé broadcasts, look for the logo “KFS” at the top of your screen).
This is the first time in history that one company has broadcast the FIFA World Cup across Africa for FREE! We will broadcast 32 matches for free including the Final. We are expecting to reach audiences of more than 300m for some of the matches, the largest sports audience in Africa, ever!
Our other channel, KS1, which is available on Kwesé TV, the Set Top Box will show all 64 games. If you haven't ordered your Kwesé decoder yet you can go to and find out how: https://www.kwese.com/how-to-get-kwese
Here you can watch the action 24/7 on the Kwesé FIFA World Cup™ (Channel 300).
And there is even more... TV revolution is in the making!
Kwesé iflix, our mobile sports and entertainment content app, is being rolled out to ensure that in most countries you will be able to use your smartphone to follow the games LIVE.
We are expecting more than 10m people to download this App in some countries!
__Zimbabwe, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda and Tanzania will all be live this week. If you are in one of these countries, check it out by downloading here: go.iflix.com/play We have exciting contests coming up to go to watch the games in Moscow. Check out the Afterthoughts.
Other operators are scrambling to get their systems integrated to Kwesé iflix. You will have to download and keep checking to see when they are active. You must also check which operator is offering special bundles at lower costs.
You will be able to stream 32 games free on Kwesé iflix (to access all 64 games, there are flexible passes). Remember you'll still have to buy data from your local provider. We have no control of this aspect. In Zimbabwe (for instance) where we have a very large data network, the data bundles will be free in most instances for access to certain games. This is something you must check carefully.
It is also the first time in history that a dedicated team of sports journalists from Africa will be at the tournament to provide in-depth coverage of the progress of African teams!
This is one of the toughest assignments I have ever had to do. Your support whilst we built this business has been invaluable to us. We have a lot of work to do still.
We have been waiting for this for a long time and now it is here! The Opening Ceremony starts on Thursday 14 June at 2:45 pm CAT, with the first game between host country Russia and Saudi Arabia two hours later...
Let the games begin! Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, and Egypt... and Brazil, are the African countries we are following!
