Splinterlands Card Giveaway - Two free cards!

in #splintertalk3 years ago

Hey everyone, I'm @serjeant. I can't say I've been playing this game for long, less than a month now, but I've been hooked since the first day.

But I've been doing pretty well by flipping some cards that I see are much cheaper than the rest of the other same cards when I spot them in the market. Thought I'd write my first post and share some of the wealth by having a giveaway for two free (cheaper) cards!

To be entered, all you need to do is give me a follow, upvote this post and reply down below with a quick tip for other players on some strategies you have to make extra DEC in the game!

Here's the two cards I will be giving away:

I will draw the winners at random and announce them within 48 hours of this post! Good luck everyone!

My quick tip would be to survey the market for cheap level 2 summoners and gold cards for rent. Newbies can rent for 2-3 days, and the difference in 1 hp/1 damage can make or break games. Learning the two elements and the basic match ups vs your prefered element is also good. (Team comp with regards to mana cost, try it on the practice fights before you do rank).

Hey @dangerkill, that sounds like great advice! Thanks for taking the time to share! :)

Thanks, i just started a week ago, i find the community in discord very helpful as there are no youtubers out there lol. also just wanted to share a bit of info hope it helps a bit for some newbies like me

Tips for beginner is to start renting low cost neutral cards when you earn around 50 DEC. It will help with your daily quests.

My tip for making a lot of DEC is to play without regard to the capture rate. It is better to play if you are taking your time and playing well than to keep starting a new game after losing. Playing directly after losing and trying to win back what you could have made is called the sunk loss fallacy. After a loss, you should review the battle and find how you lost and improve that part.
@project10back

Tip: Use peakmonster.com for better overall card management, try to find lower rent cost which in turns helps you save DEC in the long run

Hello, @serjeant! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive - congratulations and welcome! It would also be awesome if you could do more of an introduction post, so our community can get to know you better. For an example of what an intro post is like, you can check out this one by my friend & curation team member -

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities . I think you'll find these two particularly interesting to start off with -

Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.

Since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.

For now, @lovesniper will follow your account and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post. Also, please mention (also known as tagging) @traciyork & @lovesniper in your intro post in order for us to be notified, so we can consider your post for OCD curation. Lastly, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server if you have any questions!

Can't really say i can give a good tip, except for low mana cost battles a good reduction dmg tank will usually stop most beginner players cause they try to bring in lots of small units with 1 dmg which can't dmg the tank that has dmg reduction. This ensures an easy win.

My tip is to simply stay within the optimal ECR range for your number of battles per day, as is described in my article here: https://hive.blog/hive-13323/@aloscha/how-to-maximize-your-daily-dec-earnings. I wish I could give a short summary, but basically, this involves either solving an exponential equation by yourself if you really like math, use an equation solution tool online or simply use the Powershell script in the article.

Keeping an eye on the capture rate and renting cheap cards that provide DEC bonuses or that help increase win rate.

Tip: Pay attention to the game rules. They can make or break a match.
