Renting Power on the last day of the season [ENG | POR]

In my last post, I talked about the 470 DEC net loss I had on card rentals after the end of my first season playing Splinterlands. You can read about it here.

The main problem with the first approach was the rental duration. Renting power for ten days was too much for those who are playing on a low budget. Every penny counts!

For my second season, the plan was to finish on Silver III and cut the duration of power rentals to one day.

I waited until the time to the end of the season was only 23 hours to start renting cards. The prices being high was expected, but the battle to finish the purchase on PeakMonsters not. A lot of time and multiple tries between refreshing the list of cards, click to put them on the cart, and do the checkout was necessary to rent my cards.

After a while, rental operations started to return transaction errors, so I left the remaining power for later and started playing. I was still short on 2,500 power to reach Silver III.

I was playing mainly with Alric Stormbringer in Water Splinter. The core cards of my strategy were Axemaster and Kelp Initiate. Kelp Initiate is a good low mana tank and the Double Strike of Axemaster combined with the four-speed is very powerful. For fillers, I used most magic monsters and the Water Elemental, in the last position, to protect Axemaster.

Leveling up beyond the 1000 rating was not too difficult. About 2 hours before the end of the season, my ranking was enough to collect Silver III rewards, but my power only reached Bronze I.

The new attempt to rent cards was a total failure. Too many people (and bots) trying to meet the power requirements in the last two hours before the end of the season generate too much load for servers to handle. In that scenario, most cards you try to rent were already got, or you get a transaction error.

After some time trying, I gave up and accepted to end the season on Bronze I. That was my season rewards:

In the end, I spent 110.371 DEC on rentals and gained 391.927 in the Season Rewards, a net gain of 281 DEC. Much better than the 470 DEC loss of the season before.

If you are curious, my captured DEC for the season was 41, but I did not consider it in the calculations. For cards, I used market value on the time of writing.

Although I was pleased with the 281 DEC gain, waiting until the last moment to rent cards is not a good idea. In doing so, I lost tree loot chests with an estimated value of 189 DEC.

The experience of this season made me think that the best rental period for those who are playing on a budget is between two to five days. What do you think? Tell me in the comments below.

No último post, falei sobre meu prejuízo de 470 DEC alugando cartas na minha primeira temporada jogando Splinterlands. Você pode ler sobre os erros que cometi clicando aqui.

O principal problema com a primeira abordagem que usei foi a duração do aluguel. Alugar cartas por 10 dias é muito caro para quem está jogando com um orçamento apertado, afinal cada centavo conta!

Para minha segunda temporada, o plano era atingir a liga Silver III e reduzir o tempo de duração do aluguel de cartas para um dia.

Esperei até faltar apenas 23 horas para o fim da temporada e só então comecei a alugar as cartas. O aluguel estar mais caro que o normal já era esperado, mas a luta para conseguir encerrar as transações no site PeakMonster foi surpresa. Para conseguir alugar as cartas, foram necessários muito tempo e várias tentativas, entre renovar a lista de cartas, clicar para colocá-las no carrinho e finalizar o processo de compra.

Depois de um tempo tentando, o site começou a retornar erro nas transações, então decidi deixar para depois o aluguel e começar a jogar. Nesse momento, ainda faltavam 2.500 Power para atingir a liga Silver III.

Nessa temporada joguei principalmente com o Alric Srombringer, do Splinter de Água. As principais cartas na minha estratégia eram o Axemaster e o Kelp Initiate. O Kelp Initiate é um bom tank para batalhas com pouca mana, e a habilidade Double Strike do Axemaster, combinada com sua velocidade quatro, é bem poderosa. Nas outras posições eu usava monstros mágicos e o Water Elemental, na última posição, para proteger o Axemaster.

Passar de 1000 de rating não foi difícil. Cerca de 2 horas antes do fim da temporada eu já tinha rating suficiente para coletar as recompensas da liga Silver III, mas só tinha Power para a liga Bronze I.

Uma nova tentativa de alugar cartas foi um completo fracasso. Muita gente (e bots) tentando atingir os requerimentos de Power nas últimas 2 horas antes do fim da temporada sobrecarregaram os servidores. Em situações como essa, a maioria das cartas que você tentar alugar já terá sido alugada, apesar de ainda aparecerem na lista de cartas disponíveis, ou você receberá um erro ao finalizar a transação.

Depois de um tempo tentando, desisti e aceitei encerrar a temporada na liga Bronze I. Essas foram minhas recompensas:

Assim ficou a contabilidade para o final da temporada: Gastei 110,371 DEC com os aluguéis e ganhei 391,927 DEC com as recompensas da temporada, um lucro de 281 DEC. Bem melhor que meu prejuízo de 470 DEC na temporada anterior.

Se você estiver curioso, capturei 41 DEC durante as batalhas nessa temporada, mas não considerei esse valor para o cálculo do resultado. Considerei o valor de mercado para as cartas.

Apesar de estar satisfeito com o lucro de 281 DEC, deixar para alugar as cartas nos últimos momentos antes do final da temporada foi uma ideia ruim. Ao fazer isso, perdi 3 baús com valor total estimado em 189 DEC.
