FROM SPELLBOOK TO A BETTER ME

Hello guys! What's up?
Well, I don't really don't share that much stuff in social media or to someone I know, but I think this one is really worth sharing for.

So, before I knew about SPLINTERLANDS, I was a college dropout because of the pandemic. I just don't have the motivation to finish my college. I got bored and just tried to have a small business where I sell some of the favorite street food here in Philippines.

Earning just ranging about 10-20 USD a day minus the expenses, it's hard to save money for myself so I keep searching for anything that makes money. Fast forward ----

Way back September 2021, I saw a post in Facebook from my friends playing a game that they said they can earn "JUST BY PLAYING". That was the first time I heard about Splinterlands. So, I tried playing it for free (without spellbook) and was just playing it in my cheap ANDROID PHONE for how many days and got hooked in the game. So I tried investing in just a spell book first. I was playing for a couple days (That time where you can still earn using just the ghost cards). I tried renting for the first time and played new cards. Got new reward cards, DEC, potions for the first time. Little by little, I gained knowledge and everyday it gets interesting and interesting. I learned new strategies, got to silver league, got golden cards, sold some DEC via P2P in a Facebook group, sold cards and I got my first 1000 USD in my entire life!

And then this is where CHAOS LEGION PACKS arrived...

With my fear of missing out, I tried opening some packs too!
My 1000 USD turned to 500 USD in just 1 night sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!
I have a plan to buy a new phone from that money and upgrade my small business but my plan failed successfully haha (damn I'm laughing at this core memory)

Anyways, fast forward! This is the time where I tried TRADING DEC, cards, chaos packs, SPS.
I learned how to buy low and sell high assets from the game. I realized I am earning decent profit from it.
It covers my daily expenses and monthly bills.
It made me buy things that I "WANT", not only the things that I "NEED".
I can now hangout with my friends (I quitted my small business due to stress).
I saved some good money from it.
And lastly, it made my dream come true since I was a kid... to have my own GAMING COMPUTER!!! (bought it last December 2022 as a Christmas gift for myself 😻)

Overall, I just wanna thank SPLINTERLANDS for making this awesome game!
Looking back at those days, it really helped me to be a better version of myself.
It was a roller coaster ride! (Because I made profits and losses from it lol)
Hoping this game would last long till I can teach my grand kids haha
