With his young appearance, he wreaks havoc throughout the battle with his explosive magic killing those who are unprotected. His high damage is threatening even on the eyes of people who seem to be deemed strong. Magi of the Forest is a force to be reckoned with more so with his powerful summoner, Obsidian.

The card we will be discussing today is Magi of the Forest.

Despite his youthful appearance, the Magi of the Forest is one of the oldest beings in the land. He is the Spirit of the Forest’s messenger to all her people. The Magi travels, writes, teaches, and does whatever he can to promote unification of the Splinterlands. When summoned to battle he brings a robust magic attack.

  Being an Epic card, the minimum rental right now is around 7 dec per day. This is quite high but given that Magi of the Forest has magic damage and Earth Mages are one of the best right now, the rental price is quite justified.

Below is the buy cost of the card at the time of this writing.

With the minimum cost of almost $23, Magi of the Forest is quite steep but at the same time, is quite a good investment due to how cheap the new Chaos Legion supports are. Combining them with Magi of the Forest makes a formidable force both for low and higher league.

Card Stats ||

Mana: 4 || Damage: 2 || Speed: 2 || Armor: 0 || Health: 3
Magi of the Forest's stats may be low but it was countered by 2 magic damage. Magic damage passes through armor and that 2 magic damage is really deadly as there are quite a few monsters, mostly with Shield ability, like Chaos Knight that has low health but quite a bit of shield. this card directly counters then and kills them outright in 1 to 2 turns. ════════════════════════════════

Strengths Weaknesses ||

|| Magi of the Forest strengths lies on his 2 magic damage. It's enough to make him a very good card. This is furthermore supported with the new summoner from Earth Elements named, Obsidian, which increases all magic type damage by 1. This pushes Magi of the Forest to a whopping 3 damage for a 4 mana cost card.

|| Magi of the Forest weakness is his health. With only 3 health, he is really vulnerable to attacks especially on Rule Sets like Noxious Fumes which kills him in 2 turns tops. ![XA Noxious Fumes.PNG]() ════════════════════════════════

Positioning ||

POSITIONING:

The best position for this card is in the middle towards the back side. In this battle, I have Regal Peryton on the back then Magi of the Forest as I have a healer supporting. Otherwise, Magi of the Forest should go in the very middle as he is prone to sneaks.

ROUND 1:

By end of round 1, Opponent's Mycelic Slipspawn dies due to my immense magic damage. Some of my monsters took damage but nothing crazy.

ROUND 2:

By end of round 2, opponent's Unicorn Mustang also dies. Even with Void ability, he cannot stop the damage entirely as most of my monsters have an extra damage while his is negated by silence from Mushroom Seer. My Mycelic Slipspawn also dies from taunting most of the incoming damage during this round.

ROUND 3:

By end of round 3, instead of getting damaged, Unicorn Mustang even healed by 2 going to 7 health. This round also marks the death of Regal Peryton and Disintegrator.

ROUND 4:

Game ended on round 4 with the death of Goblin Psychic and Goblin Tower. My low cost Magi of the Forest allowed me to put big monsters on the board while dishing out amazing damage throughout the game.

Compatibility ||

The best combo with this card for me is with Obsidian and other mages. Earth is the new water. With the release of Obsidian and other Earth mages, they become a formidable group to go against with.

Final Thoughts

With all the evidences that we gathered, we could say that Magi of the Forest is one of the old cards that shine brightly right now. With the release of Earth mages and Obsidian, they come with impact as they decimate the field with magic damage. Even though Magi of the Forest does not have any abilities, the sheer force at low mana is enough to make him stand on top as one of the strongest card in the game right now. Including the new supports, with Magi of the Forest, the Earth Elements is undoubtedly one of the deadliest forces right now.
