Do You Know Conclave Tracker?

The Conclave Tracker is one of those units that look simple at first but slowly grow on you the more battles you play. Many players skip it because it cost 8 mana and at low levels, only have 1 magic attack. This can turn off a lot of players, especially the new ones. But in real games, this card can change the flow of a match without being the one carrying the game but the one supporting the carry. It sits in the back, it survives longer than expected and it keeps doing small things that matter every round. In low to mid mana games, it feels expensive mana-wise but in normal battle with decent mana it can become a foundation for the carries. What make Conclave Tracker interesting is how it mix defense, support and consistent damage. It is not a pure attacker and it is not just a healer or repair unit. Conclave Tracker is something in between and that is why many players misplay when using it. When your enemy focus on front tanks and big damage, this unit not only slowly kill weak targets but also fix your tank's armor to make it last longer.

Stats

Rarity: CommonMana: 82 magic damage
Armor: 4Health: 7Speed: 4
  • Conclave Tracker is best seen as a hybrid support-damage unit. With 2 magic damage at max level, it is quite weak bute since magic attacks always hit, every round it contribute something. The 4 speed make it act early, while 4 armor and 7 health give it a good stat as a backup tank. While Conclave Tracker is not a main tank, it still survive like one in the rear, often living until late rounds. Opportunity let it hunt low health enemies, Repair keep your armor in your units alive longer and Phase make it hard to die from magic attacks. This unit excels in slow battles with a lot of melee and range attacks. It combo well with high armor tanks, shield units and any team that rely on armor. Pair it with a big front like a tank with Taunt and it will keep fixing that armor while shooting magic attacks on low health targets. It also work well with archons that boost magic attack like Marlai Singariel turning it into a mini fortress that still deal decent magic attack.

Abilities

Opportunity.pngOpportunity: Units with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Unit with the lowest health.
This ability let Conclave Tracker always target the lowest health enemy. It is very strong when you want to kill and reduce the enemy numbers quick especially against glass cannons. It works best when you have multiple Opportunity units which makes them prioritize the low health units to reduce the numbers. In rules like Rise of the Commons where not all units have high health, this one can stand out a lot.

Repair.pngRepair: Restores a third of max armor to the friendly Unit whose armor has taken the most damage.
Repair fixes armor of a friendly unit every round. This ability prioritizes the unit with the most damaged armor and not based on positions. This is huge when paired with tanks that have Shield or Taunt. In long fights, it will feel like your tank has extra life every round especially when your enemies have high melee and range attacks. It is very good with Protect ability and archons that uses armor creating a wall that the enemy must break again and again.

Phase.pngPhase: Magic attacks can miss this Unit (using the same hit/miss calculation as Melee and Ranged attacks).
Phase allows this unit to dodge magic attacks using its speed. With 4 speed, it's already decent and Phase makes it even more annoying. In magic heavy battles, this often save it for many rounds. This is a strong ability when you position Conclave Tracker correctly. Put Conclave Tracker behind your main tank and in front of the more squishy units in order to protect your team against possible Sneak enemies.
