Welcome to my 47th #BrawlReport as part of the @hive.pizza PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish guild! This is the brawl that ended around December 24, 2022 and I battled in Fray #1.
PIZZA 2 Guild Member Performance
I snagged the first place slot with 7 wins and 1 loss. Congrats to @amaillo-m for going undefeated in this brawl with a record of 6-0!
PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish Results
We earned 14 crowns, 754 merits, and 11.909 SPS for finishing in 1st place in this brawl. I noticed in my last Brawl Report that my rental strategy was now profitable with the SPS rewards. Let's take a look at whether it stayed profitable this time.
SPS has continued its downward trajectory and currently trades at $0.0245 each. Based on this brawl's rewards of 11.909 SPS that equals $0.29 USD. I spent 325.13 DEC equivalent in Credits for my brawl rentals. 325.13 DEC = $0.22 USD. Once again, my rentals were fully paid for with our brawl rewards! This is a really cool new development and makes me a bit more excited to participate in the brawls and rank in the top couple of places each time. It's not going to make me rich, but at least my cost of fun is covered.
My Battles
My 7-1 record was the result of going 4-1 in actual battles with three opponents fleeing.
Featured Battles
Battle #1 - Win
This battle is against the team that took first place in the brawl. I have never seen the Fire & Regret buff before and it turns out I mistook what it actually does. I thought it would rebound any attack, but it only reflects range attacks. Because of that, none of my cards is going to benefit from the Fire & Regret in this battle.
I decided to focus on magic attack (thinking it would reflect) so I paired that with Kron and Quora. Because of my opponent using a Void card in the tank position, combined with a Goblin Psychic, I did not expect this battle to go well for me.
Luckily for me, in round 3, my Quora card took out two opponents and received a huge stats boost thanks to the Bloodlust ability. That was the turning point in this battle and ultimately led me to victory.
This was an especially sweet win because it was against the 1st place team and it appears to be the only brawl battle that @aelrtx lost.
Battle #3 - Win
As a sub-20 mana battle, this one leaves me with a couple options: 1: rely on only a couple of high mana and powerful cards, 2: focus on many low mana cards and inundate my opponent with many attacks. I decide to go with option #1 and focus my efforts with a Llama summoner and Quora tank.
The Last Stand ability combined with the Bloodlust and Heal for Quora is what won this battle for me. However, the only reason I won is because we were at a stalemate with my opponent employing a double-heal strategy. So, in round 20 the Fatigue feature kicked in and took out my opponent's back row of cards, thereby eliminating their healing powers and handing the victory to me.
Battle #7 - Win
This 44-mana battle allowed both of us to pull out a few bigger guns and we ended up both playing the Mycelic Slipspawn tank. However, I paired that with a Llama/Kron combo, a healing power card, and a Mushroom Seer that effectively neutralized their summoner +1 magic benefit.
The combination of cards I used made quick work of eliminating my opponent in this battle. My Kron didn't even get the chance to use the extra power as the last card standing.
Final Thoughts
This was a really good brawl for me. I think I had some really great wins and used smart strategy for the most part. Although three of my battles were flees, I'll take those wins everyday.
Sadly, we were up against quite a few tough teams this time and so we ended solidly in second place, seven wins behind the first place finisher.
What is the @hive.pizza #BrawlReport?
kennysgaminglife spearheaded the #BrawlReport project as a way to get PIZZA guild members more engaged in the @Splinterlands community. Here's what he had to say:
*Starting with the brawl that just ended, I've invited/asked members of the #HivePizza guild to publish a #BrawlReport, breaking down their highs & lows, where they need help, questions they have, strategies they love, and so on. The idea is to help us all reflect a bit, learn a bit, share a bit, earn a bit, and connect a bit :-)
Check out the latest update on the Hive Pizza token project. We also have an announcement in there about the newest PIZZA guild! We are up to four Splinterlands guilds now and are consistently well-ranking.

I rented cards for my alt account, and it is profitable, just takes forever to get paid out from SPS with the unstaking process!
!PIZZA
I was quite irritated when I realized I can only have one SPS unstaking going at a time. Or is there a way around that? It wouldn't surprise me if the Splinterlands devs made it that way to slow down people's unstaking.

Not that I know of, it is a bit wait game for that one :(
Awesome fighter!
