Now for this blog, I've been seeing post or questions in our community group about how to exchange SPS to DEC or DEC to SPS. While others are posting that they are selling their SPS for DEC, which is the same for exchanging them. Because of this I decided to make this guide about that.

Before that, let me introduce to you first the Decentralized Exchange (DEX) that we are about to use, introducing :

HIVE ENGINE is a Decentralized Exchange (DEX) site under the Hive Blockchain. This is used to exchange tokens, coins and other in-game assets under the Hive Blockchain. This is also used to withdraw DEC, SPS, STARBITS and other Tokens from the game to your Hive Wallet. But you need to exchange those tokens to HIVE first.

Image below is the home page of HIVE ENGINE. You can click on the Tabs on the Upper Left Part of the Page to explore more about the site.

EXCHANGING/SWAPPING TOKENS

Now let us discuss the main topic for this blog. Please note that all Tokens here are only paired with Hive Token. Meaning that if you want to exchange, for example, your SPS to DEC. You will need first to exchange SPS to HIVE then HIVE to DEC. Let us do that exchange as an example for this blog.

(1) TRANSFER YOUR SPS TO HIVE ENGINE

Go to Splinterlands, Log in your Account and click the SPS tab.

On the SPS Tab. Click transfer. A transfer menu will appear.

Input the amount of SPS you would like to exchange, then click the arrow down button and select Hive Engine. After that click TRANSFER OUT.

As you will notice, I have transferred all my available SPS to Hive Engine. Therefore my balance became Zero.

(2) EXCHANGING YOUR SPS TO DEC

Go to HIVE ENGINE and Log In your account. You will find the Log in button on the upper right part of the Home Page.

Enter the same username that you use on Splinterlands. Please note that you need the HIVE KEYCHAIN EXTENSION installed on your browser in order to log in to Hive Engine.

After logging in, click on Wallet Tab on the upper right part of the Page.

On the Wallet Tab you will see all the Tokens that you owned and also the Tokens that you have transacted before even though it doesn't have balances anymore.

The SPS Token that we transferred has already reflected on the Wallet. To exchange this to DEC, you will need to exchange it first to HIVE or SWAP.HIVE(as what it was displayed on Hive-Engine) TOKEN. To do this just click the Swap Icon button and you will be transferred to MARKET TAB. See image below.

On the Market Tab, you will see a Price details and Price Chart. Scroll it down a bit and you will see the Buy Order and Sell Order. What we need is to sell the SPS in exchange for HIVE.
(a) Click the topmost Bid on the Buy Order Column.
(b) Click your balance SPS. It will automatically input on the spaces provided.
(c) Click Sell SPS.

As you will notice here in the Green Arrow, the balance for SPS became 0 while in the Red arrow, the balance of HIVE has increased. Now let us go back to our Wallet.

See, the SPS exchange to HIVE. Now let us Exchange that Hive to DEC. Click the swap button of the DEC Token to go back to Market Tab, but instead of HIVE/SPS that will show, it will be HIVE/DEC.
This time we will buy DEC using HIVE. A while ago we use the Buy Order Column, now we will use the Sell Order Column with same steps as above.
(a) Click the topmost Ask on the Sell Order Column.
(b) Click your balance HIVE. It will automatically input on the spaces provided.
(c) Click Buy DEC.

After that, your DEC will have balance and your HIVE Balance will decrease. Also check it in your wallet.

(3) TRANSFER YOUR DEC TO SPLINTERLANDS

Now for the final Step, Go back to Splinterlands and click the DEC Tab.

Input the Amount of DEC on the space provided, click the arrow down and select Hive Engine and Click Transfer In.

You have successfully exchange your SPS to DEC. 😀

You can use this method for other Token Exchange. Just follow the general procedure.
(1) Transfer Token A to Hive.
(2) Exchange Token A for HIVE then HIVE for Token B.
(3) Transfer Token B to the respective site of Hive Blockchain.
