Splinterland's : Swiftness has its own merits.
I guess when we go for any card we start looking it's abilities and attack value of the card. Higher the attack of the card is always better. Onabilities side we start checking on the abilities, how strongly they affect the opponent or help the team. More tangible the ability, more the card is the sought. This really causes us to ignore some of the cards and abilities that have non-tangible abilities. For which we cannot directly calculate the effect of that ability but it definitely help in winning battles. For example, if I have a healing ability, I know how much health is being restored. However, if I am using a swift ability, I am not sure how much benefit I am getting, and sometimes these abilities get ignored.
In my latest battle, I was also skeptical about how to tackle my opponent (I am sure that the opponent will use "Aurelia" earth archon, base upon the opponent history and ruleset disallowing the magic attack.)
I have 2 choice, either go with my level 2 "Aurelia" or try "swiftness" with my level 3 Barthalamas as I do not want go with my level 2 death archon as death cards also has low swiftness and no heal for them.
So here is the battle screenshot for the start of first round. Even with the swiftness, I might not have used Barthalamas, if there is "equalizier" ruleset was not there as Fire cards do have great swiftness and great attack but they lose on good health. In absence of good health, taking opponents healing tank is a daunting task.
If you the round 2, opponent Mad gearhead was over powered without even offering a shot ansd Vengeful monk missed its attack, thank to switness, which now caused that I will start round 3 with 5 monsters and opponent with 4 monsters.
I again took Vengeful monk of opponent without it even able to attack, and again in this round opponent Wilhemdale deputy misses my monster.
For some reason, it may look like that opponent and I am fairly pitched with 3 surviving moster, but if you see the health of my monster in position 1 and factor in swiftness, this is the end of my opponent struggle and I comfortably won this match with these 3 monsters surviving and though match extended to round 9.
