Hello Splinterlands fans. Our featured card for this week is from the new set Chaos Legion. I don't use this card often but let's see if it can help our team win this battle.
Its Snipe ability can gain us some advantage if it can immediately eliminate our opponent's Ranged or Magic attack monsters.
Battle Ruleset
Standard: No modification to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.
Lineup & Strategy
We're going to use a Dragon summoner to get access to our tank monster. The +1 armor buff that this summoner adds to our team will increase our team's survival in battle. A Dragon+Fire Splinter team looks promising.
Tank: Djinn Chwala
A sturdy tank with the "Thorns" ability is the perfect blocker against Melee attackers since it returns damage back when hit.
Serpentine Spy
This monster's Opportunity ability will help us eliminate enemy monsters that are low in health faster.
Lava Spider
Our featured card will be on the last position to protect Serpentine Spy from possible Sneak attacks. Its Snipe ability can also help in dealing damage on Ranged, Magic or monsters with no attack that are not in the first position.

Our opponent chose the same Summoner adding 1 armor to all friendly monsters. Round 1 was quite a steady fight since no monster died this round. Our tank monster took a few hits bit still has some armor left for the next round.
Serpentine Spy eliminated an enemy monster that was low on health on Round 2. Our opponent's tank monster is also not looking good having 4 health remaining.
Djinn Chwala eliminated the enemy tank using its Thorns ability after receiving a Melee attack from it on Round 3. At the end of this round, the enemy monster who took over the 1st position was hanging on its 2 life.
Djinn Chwala and Serpentine Spy eliminated the 2 remaining enemy monsters claiming victory in this battle!!!
Conclusion
Although both of our teams had extra armor and both tank monsters had the Thorns ability, we still had a slight advantage because of the huge armor that Djinn Chwala had. It was able to survive till the last round while also dealing damage back to its Melee attackers. Our featured card Lava Spider also had a big role in this victory as it was protecting Serpentine Spy from Sneak atacks while it was slowling picking on the low health enemy monsters.
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Our strategy of using Djinn Chwala as tank and taking advantage of its Thorns ability worked really well. It was able to reduce the armor and health of its Melee attackers paving way for Serpentine Spy to finish the job.
Do you like the LAVA SPIDER? Why or why not?
I like using Lava Spider when I have 3 remaining mana and I need a monster that can take a few hits before hitting the sack. Its decent health of 4 is perfect for blocking Sneak attacks.
That' all for now folks. Till the next Battle Challenge. Have a great weekend and stay safe.
What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Heartstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using a blockchain technology, players can buy, sell and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
