Lineup Strategy
Kelya Frendul
We've chosen this Summoner to add +1 Armor and Speed to our team. This will increase our team's survival against critical attacks and will also give us access to our featured card.
Cruel Sethropod
Our featured card will be our tank monster. Although its low on attack power, it's Armor and Health can definitely take several hits before going down.
Deeplurker will be our damage dealer. Its Opportunity ability will be our key advantage in winning this battle since it can target low Health monster on any position.
Last but not the least in our lineup is Ice Pixie. Its Flying ability can dodge Melee and Ranged attacks from non-flying attackers. We're placing it at the last position to protect our team from monsters with the Opportunity ability. Since it has the lowest Health in our lineup, it will definitely be on their crosshair each time they attack.

Our opponent decided to use Death Splinter lineup with a Summoner that debuffs Ranged attack power on enemy monsters. Good thing our lineup does not have any Ranged attackers. However, the enemy tank has the Thorns ability that deals damage back to Melee attackers. This will be quite troublesome since two of our monsters are Melee attackers.
Deeplurker swiftly eliminated an enemy monster with a single attack in Round 1. Fortunately its one our opponent's key monsters that uses Magic attack and has the Life Leech ability.
After taking several attacks, we lost our tank and featured monster in Round 2. We are still at the advantage since Deeplurker still has a lot of Health remaining.
Although Deeplurker's attack eliminated the enemy tank in Round 3, it also died from the damage Thorns ability dealt back. The road to victory is much clearer now since the remaining enemy monster uses Ranged attacks that no longer works when in the 1st position.
Ice Pixie was able to eliminate the remaining enemy monster in Round 5 making our team victorious in this battle.
Conclusion
Cruel Sethropod did a superb job of protecting our team for 1 round that gave Deeplurker the chance it needed to eliminate one of our opponent's key monster. If that monster that had the Life Leech ability survived, it will just generate more Health making it difficult for our team to win. Of course, this victory would not be possible without Ice Pixie's help. It was our last standing monster that sealed our victory.
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Using Cruel Sethropod as a tank worked quite nicely since it gave Deeplurker the time it needed to steal the spotlight from one of our opponent's monster.
Do you like CRUEL SETHROPOD? Why or why not?
I only use this monster in Low Mana matches since it costs less but is quite sturdy for a tank monster. Medium to High mana matches provides more valuable tank monsters.
That's all we have for now folks. See you again next week for the new Battle Challenge here at Splinterlands! Have a great weekend!!!
What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Heartstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using a blockchain technology, players can buy, sell and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
