Alric 2.0?
The king is dead, long live the queen!
With the new wave of cards coming to us with the release of Chaos Legion earlier this month it has taken away the starter cards that we are used to be playing for months Summoners such as Alric, Zintar, and Tyrus, and other Monster cards are now unusable unless you currently own them or have rented them before the switch.
Through that new starters have been given to use to play with until the next core set will be released. One of those new cards is the replacement for Alric in the form of Obsidian the new earth magic Summoner.
Water Options

As one can see through the elemental specific magic monsters it would seem that Earth has a lot more utility in low-level cards to be had with 2 tank healers, 3 high health frontliners, a Bortus, and even a resurrector when compared to Water which uses more high attack cards i.e Djinn, Captain's Ghost and the other legendaries
Ranked Battles
Some battles I did to showcase Obsidian to what I thought would be a good matchup with the limited info and match constraints I was given.
Against Dragon Magic
Positioning the taunt monster in the 2nd position to at least counter Doctor Blight as it is quite a popular card being run in Silver, made it possible for my Unicorn to still be healed.
Against the Mirror
Having more healing is always a plus when dealing with the mirror it would be better to rent out or just buy a Mushroom Seer as that card would only be getting more expensive in the future IMO.
Against Yodin
While thinking of this lineup I thought with the equalizer condition stacked with 2 flying units up first it would be in my benefit since it would have higher chances to dodge the blast and snipes.
Overall pretty good summoner and is so sweet to play, highly infuriating to counter against since Earth can easily deviate if need be to other good summoners like Mylor, Prince Rennyn.
