Hi guys,

the final Chaos Legion Legendary Summoner, Lily Shieldpaw, was revealed and I want to take a look at all the legendary summoners and compare them to the Untamed ones.

Chaos Legion Legendary Summoners

The Chaos Legion set is nearing the end of its print run and we now have all Legendary airdrop summoners (the last one will be here shortly). An this is what they look like:

All of them are 6 mana cards and have 2 abilities and one stat. There's no duplicates among.

Looking at the price they are all around the $20 mark, with Jacek being a little bit more expensive at the moment and Possibilus being quite a bit cheaper.

In terms of win % across all leagues Rathe stands out with an astonishing 75%, followed by Immortalis with 54% and Possibilus with just 50%. SummonerLabs apparently has no data of Jacek and Astral Entity, which is a little weird and these stats should not be taken as absolute.

Since Lily Shieldpaw has not dropped yet, we don't know how expensive or strong in the meta she'll be, but the community had mixed reactions about her power.

If I had to rank them on personal experience (playing in gold 1 - leaderboards) i would rank them as following:

1. Rathe
2. Astral Entity
3. Jacek
4. Immortalis
5. Possibilus

Untamed Legendary Summoners

The Untamed summoners are all 7 mana and also have 2 abilities and a stat and there's also no duplicates among them. Compared to the Chaos Legion summoners the Untamed ones are quit a bit stronger. Not all of them and yes, they are one mana more expensive, but especially Kitty, Yodin and Llama outperform all the other summoners in the majority of battles and dominate the current meta. While there have been made adjustments to tame Yodin's power, Kitty still remains the king.

Price wise these cards are a lot more expensive, with the cheapest one (Mimosa) already being twice as pricy as the average CL summoner. This is not only due to their strength, as scarcity makes up a large portion of the price and Untamed cards had a lower print number and are out of print entirely, where as Chaos Legion is still in print and has way more BCX in total.

In terms of win rate across all leagues Llama takes the first spot with 73%, followed by Yodin with 65%. For some reason we don't have data for the rest of the summoners, so is unfortunately not very representative.

Summary

Comparing the legendary summoners from both sets it's obvious that Untamed had a lot stronger, more powerful summoners over all. However I personally think they were too overpowered and designing more balanced summoners, that each shine in specific rules and scenarios and are not a one size fits all solution (like Kitty 99% of the time) is way better for the meta. Also with the higher print rate and lower price these cards become more affordable for the average player, but not so cheap to the point where everyone has a max copy.

It's going to be interesting how the new soulbound set shakes up the meta, once enough people have the cards maxed for their leagues. And don't forget the next big set Rebellion will also go live this year, bringing the possibility for great synergies with the older Chaos Legion cards and their legendary summoners.
