RE: SPS Governance Proposal - Daily Burn of Unsold Chaos Legion Packs

in #splinterlands2 years ago (edited)

Usually I'm a vote against kind of person. But I have always maintained, along with many that 15 million packs were too many at $4 a pop with a player base of only 30-70k at most. If the price was $3, they may have sold out already or very close to. Right now no one wants to spend $4 if they are most likely to get 4, 10 cent commons and a 30 cent rare right?! From an investment perspective, it's already short term finacial suicide against market value (and the airdrops dont improve your value much and yes most people do care about the value of their investment, you don't spend 1k,5k, 10k 50k or 100k on a p2e crypto game just cause you like it, just ask the whales who have frequented these forums in previous proposals) with no gurantee of seeing a positive long term return. I believe instead of burning or before burning having half price event would generate a lot of hype. At $2 a pop people would flood to buy the remaining packs and this would favour the newbies and lower tier/income players of which we need to encourage to stay in the game as most whales already have maxed out decks or collected their long term pack investment holds. Having said that, there is a massive oversaturation of Chaos and the need to burn them is recognised by many. I will actually support this proposal. It's time to start putting some deflationary pressure on Chaos cards. But I echo the sentiment of others that even those who invest big in this game are exhausted of finances between Chaos, Riftwatchers, TD and Runi etc. There needs to be a decent accumulation phase between the release of Rebellion or we will simply end up with the same problem the moment Rebellion comes out.
