Today I wanted to talk about one of the new rulesets, because it's too great to wait until it gets highlighted in the Battle Mage Secrets challenge.
The Born Again ruleset, gives every monster the rebirth ability at the start of the battle.
""When a friendly Monster dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle, the monster is resurrected with full armor"
Shoutout to @djrockx for mentioning this strategy in our guilds discord server, he made this strategy with Quora, since I don't own Quora on my main account, I made my own version of it 😁.
My Line-up
- Summoner: Obsidian - reason: While the star of my team is using melee damage, extra magic damage is nice for these kind of battles to quickly take out some enemy monsters, obsidian's +1 magic damage is a good choice, Immortalis would also have been a nice option.
- First Position: Hill Giant - reason: a slow, decent HP unit, I'm just using it as a meat shield.
- Second Position: Regal Peryton - reason: very fast, evasive. with opportunity it's good to strike first.
- Third Position: Fungus Flinger - reason: the martyr ability! this unit will die first, boosting the stats of Regal Peryton and Grund.
- Fourth Position: Grund - reason: good melee damage, ok speed, doublestrike. boosted with the two martyr cards it's a beast.
- Fifth Position: Venari Marksrat - reason: the martyr ability! this unit will die after Fungus Flinger, boosting the stats of Grund and the camouflaged Djinn.
- Sixth Position: Djinn Biljka - reason: good magic damage, cheap mana, camouflage so it won't be affected by the enemy opportunity attacks.
The Battle:
Round 1: My first martyr card already died, boosted the surrounding cards, died again for another boost! Look at the stats, and it's just getting started...
Round 2: The second martyr card also died twice, my strategy is now at full strength, hill giant is still alive to soak up some damage, if I had more melee opponents they would have missed a lot of attacks against Regal Peryton with it's 8 speed and flying, good luck in hitting that! 😁.
Round 3: Crazy damage output! the small and cheap Djinn doing 5 magic damage and can't be targeted since the enemy team don't have scattershot monsters, Grund doing 14 melee damage every round. One lucky thing my opponent has... armor.
Round 4: Only Nerissa and the enemy Djinn are alive now, both very good cards, but don't stand a chance against so much damage.
Round 5, FINAL ROUND: Hill Giant finally died, but that's ok, it wasn't relying on it to do the damage anyway, Oshannus is the only one alive now and is killed by Grund.
Only 5 rounds for this battle 😁

Nice synergy with all the abilities and the ruleset.
