Greetings to all the members of the Hive Blockchain community, most especially those who enjoy playing Splinterlands. This week's Share Your Battle challenge features the Dragon splinter. I am going to introduce three of the dragon cards that I have - Quix the Devious, Carnage Titan, and Chaos Dragon.

Getting to know you

My deck is mostly Chaos Legion cards. My Dragon summoner is Quix the Devious. He requires 4 mana, slows down the opponent's monsters by 1, and debuffs archery damage by 1. He can cause misses. He can also effectively counter Yodin and Selenia Sky, which are two of the most used summoners in the Gold league before Chaos Legion was introduced into the game.

When available, I almost always use Carnage Titan as my secondary tank. He is a melee monster that needs 11 mana. At Level 3, he has reach (which allows him to attack at the second position), double strike (he attacks twice), and shield (reduces damage from melee and range attacks). He is great in most situations especially when there is a rule set that grants splash damage to all monsters. I only elect not to use him in low mana situations or when I believe that my opponent will use heavy magic monsters.

Similar to Carnage Titan, Chaos Dragon is also tough to put into the lineup because he requires 14 mana. But when the mana cap is high, I usually put him in. At Level 3, he has flying (ability to fly and be immune to earthquake damage; it also allows him to evade melee and ranged damage), scattershot (when it is not in the first position, it can randomly attack any monster even when there is a taunt monster), splash damage (applies reduced damage to adjacent opposing monsters) and blind (causes opponents melee and ranged damage dealers to miss). On top of it all, he does magic damage, which almost always lands on its target. He is a monster!

Battle analysis

I used the Quix, Carnage Titan, and Chaos Dragon in this particular battle with these rules:

Equal Opportunity - All Monsters have the Opportunity ability
Equalizer - The initial health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster of either team with the highest base Health
Mana cap = 60
Splinters = Fire, Water, Life, Death, or Dragon

When I saw that I saw that the mana cap is high and the Dragon splinter is open, I automatically fielded in Quix, Carnage Titan and Chaos Dragon. They are the automatic combos for me (though I feel I have to get to know the riftwatcher card more). I then added monsters from the Earth splinter. Grund was my main tank, and Mycelic Slipspawn is my distraction at the back. I included my healers Goblin Psychic and Queen Mycelia for battle longevity. I thought healers would be crucial as there is an Equalizer rule - they will have more life and their targets would get more healing as the base health is high.

When the cards were revealed, I was not suprised to see the same Dragon cards from my opponent - Quix, Carnage Titan, and Chaos Dragon. But because he did not field in any healers, I was sure that I would win this battle. Most of my opponent's monsters would target my back line tank Mycelic Slipspawn, which gets healed by my Queen Mycelia. My main tank Grun is attacked by my opponent's Legionnaire Alvar and Carnage Titan, but I have a tank healer in Goblin Psychic, which can regain Grund's health. While my opponent has scatter shot with splash in Chaos Dragon, I thought it will not be very effective as I have a triage healer. And true enough, I won the battle.

Rating

10 out of 10

When I see a high mana cap and Dragon splinter is available, I almost always choose the trio of Quix, Carnage Titan and Chaos Dragon because of the perfect mix of offense and defense. I look forward to the new cards that will be introduced to counter or synergize with this trio.
