RE: Splinterlands Guild Store - a place to spend your Brawl Rewards!

in #splinterlands3 years ago (edited)

every participant in a given guild will receive the same amount of Merits, regardless of win / loss / draw record.

It would be nice if winning counted for something.
ex: 100% winrate in the fray = 100% reward || 0% winrate = 25% reward

I think this idea is reasonable considering merits are called merits

I'd also prefer if someone wasn't considered a participant if they didn't actually participate,
so I agree on this part: to receive Merits, you must submit all your teams for a given Brawl!

There seems to be a glaring issue with calculation though.
I could start a 'solo' guild and get the entire 500xCrowns amount?
Even if it were only 3 crowns, I think that's going to be quite a lot.
So I can just go lose all my battles and get 1500 'merits'?
This sounds like botfarm territory.
Please include win/loss.

Winning does count for something. That's how your guild gets Crowns, and the amount of Crowns won directly determines how many Merits get handed out. So if your guild doesn't win many matches, it won't get many Crowns, and you yourself won't get many Merits.

We decided each guild member should get the same amount of Merits because that's the only real fair way to distribute them, given that members are likely to have a different number of battles if some guilds don't fill all Frays.

If a participant does not actually submit teams for their matches (i.e. they don't really participate), they won't get any Merits.

Yes! Thank you so much for having each guild member get the same amount of merits. I shouldn't be punished for defending a gold slot that most of the other guilds don't enter. Also, going by win percentage generally doesn't work either because higher level and gold slots generally have tougher competition.

Imho that's how guilds should be, grow together!

Yes, that's true, you could do that. It's likely your solo guild would come in dead last and win very few crowns though... which means it would take forever to level up your buildings, so you will be progressing at a very slow rate and maybe getting enough Merits for 1 gladiator pack every 5-10 days. So I suppose I wouldn't view that as being any different from a low-level bot that just grinds ranked matches all day long. And remember you still have to pay DEC to make the guild and at least get a level 1 Store & Arena, so there is an entry cost associated with doing this.
