Given the way the Splinterlands ecosystem is built, it can be hard to find success early on. If you're trying to figure out a way to advance through the early ranks, then the Fire splinter might be the way to go. Let's get into some of the reasons why.
Pros- Great melee and speed, high health, great summoner's, decent ranged attackers, and good backline attackers.
Cons- Not as strong in Magic, debuffs can greatly reduce effectiveness, healers.
Summoners-
Yodin is expensive, but well worth it if you find some renting it at lower cost.
Plado is also quite nice, and sometimes much cheaper than Yodin.
Malric is good but Yodin and Plado seems to be the better way to go if your renting.
Pyre and Qid are not as effective, but might be necessary depending on your budget.
Tanks-
Living Lava- Shield and decent attack, but slow.
Cerberus- Good in low mana battles, has heal, and decent health for 4 mana.
Serpent of the Flame- Best of the bunch, poison and retaliate, but low health and expensive.
Kobold Bruiser- High attack, speed, health for low mana battles.
Second postion-
Fineas Rage- Reach, decent attack, and excellent speed
Cerberus- Good in low mana battles, has heal, and decent health for 4 mana.
Molten Orge- High attack, demoralize, and high health. (Only good for high mana battles.)
Backline-
Serpentine Spy- Opportunity skill is can tear through opponents backline, works well in no sneak and snipe battles, good speed and attack, but low health.
Kobold Miner- Sneak, 2 attack at level 3, low mana, works well with attack and speed buffs.
Pyromancer,- Blast and good health.
Anchor-
Fire Beatle- Range and good health.
Efreet Elder- Magic, good health, and last stand.
There are many other good options, but these seems to help me stay competitive on a low budget.
