But instead with Brighton Bloom!
This guy has saved me so many battles with earthquake as a ruleset! (I love how every single battle is different from the previous really keeps it interesting)

Firstly I just started my journey with Splinterlands only a few days ago and it has been an absolute blast! (No pun intended)
The first couple of encounters I had with this mechanic I was overwhelmed and I didn't understand why all my monsters continued to receive 2 damage at the end of the turn. After furious researching I came to the conclusion that the counter to earthquake is to simply make my monsters, you guessed it. Fly! So I searched for a card that does that and found the carry of my dreams. Mr Brighton Bloom!
Let's talk about the battle!

My line up is pretty straight forward, tank at the front Living Lava who absorbs a crazy amount of physical and ranged damage, followed up by my favourite assassin I have played with so far Serpentine Spy who is next up in line due to him being melee, once Living Lava dies I will have him tank as my ranges cannot tank and do damage in the first position. Next up I have my two main damage dealers Fire Elemental and Spark Pixies. I positioned them both in those spots as they are the safest spots in a battle and they wont be hit. Next up I have my slow slime dude (Creeping Ooze), this guy is so amazing for 1 mana, he makes the entire enemy team slower than your monsters so your monsters can fire off their attacks first! Lastly I have Fire Beetle who is my weakest range attacker and I put him last because I don't really care if he gets targeted by Sneak if the enemy had a monster with that ability on their team.
Now let's talk about Earthquake and how I beat it!
Earthquake Description: Monsters without flight ability will be hit with 2 melee damage after every round ends.
My strategy as you may have already guessed was to dodge the damage dealt by Earthquake which Brighton Bloom does beautifully. Giving every single one of your monsters the Flying ability. This ability has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability, and also not take any damage from Earthquake as my monsters are all above land! (HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!)
As you can see from the battle link above, I dodged all the damage from Earthquake whilst my opponent who didn't have the Flying ability (me about 2 hours before discovering Brighton Bloom) got blasted away even with the extra shields his hammer dude gave them!
Brighton Bloom is my go to Summoner for every single Earthquake matchup and I highly recommend you use him also in those match ups!
For those who have never played Splinterlands, please I implore you to give it a chance it is an amazingly addictive (in a good way) strategy card game and so much more! You can even earn yourself a little coin on the side if you get your hands on a lucky rare card! ;)
