Wazzup my Splinterfolks, here who writes you is iuri, O Mágico and I'm going to start a new series of posts telling my path of blood and tears inside Brawl. I don't know how the path will go, I don't know what to tell you, however, spoiler alert - In the end I'm the champion of the Arena. It may take a while (or quite a bit, splinterlands is more like a marathon than a 100m sprint). So grab your journey, squeeze your dragons and join me on this journey to top.

A little bit about the past, or even Pain and Joy

My journey in the Splinterlands began in mid-October of last year (2021) when I had a reaction to something and developed something called trigeminal neuralgia, which is one of the worst physical pains a human being can feel. I had to abandon some real-life projects, but in return I got to know this wonderful game and this outstanding community. I already knew a little about blockchains, I always believed in the revolutionary power of decentralization and I love games of all kinds, but especially card and strategy games so when I met hive splinterlands it was love at first sight.

I had barely started to play, to understand the mana caps, the rules, the metas of each color, but I was already participating in novice and bronze tournaments and even winning some of then. All those years of playing Magic the Gathering in high school certainly gave me some sort of head start, even though the two games have completely different dynamics.

Then I had the brilliant idea of ​​opening a guild, without even knowing what a guild was for hahaha I paid the 10000 DEC, and voilá, the guild da Ordem Farpada (Splintered Order) was created. My idea was to set up a guild focused on the Brazilian community.

A few months passed, a lot of people came and went and the guild was taking a long time to level up. So talking to a friend about how there are so many guilds with the same name, we came up with the idea: why not try ask for sponsoring to one of them? The first attempt was with Peakmonsters, the best card market in Splinterlands, and surprisingly, they were very helpful and sweet and practically adopted us. We stopped being the Ordem Farpada, and became PeakMonsters Brasil.

BRAWL REPORT #1

This brawl was one with the least amount of battles I had. Okay, as Gold Foil Fray usually has less players, but this time it was too much, or rather, too little, because there were only 2 players besides me.

First Battle

The first battle already made me nervous right away, because the Immortal Gods people always give me complicated battles, and to make my situation worse he put a Gladius card in the line up, which I almost never see in Gold Foil Frays:

IURIOMAGICO (PEAKMONSTER BRASIL) VS NEMORZ (IMMORTAL GODS 6)

Unfortunately, for him in this case, simply having good cards wasn't enough. Understanding how cards interact with each other and the ability to predict the enemy's deck are also critical. In this battle, the Chaos Warrior's Shield ability managed to shine to the fullest, reducing all attacks to zero, while the Celestial Harpy destroyed any chance of regeneration of the White Venari. Peaceful victory.

Second Battle

The second battle turned out to be funny, because as you can see, we used the exact same cards, the only thing different was the order in which they were placed. And here in the Splinterlands, this detail makes ALL the difference.

EU vs Drillith (BEAST MODE)

I usually use Regal Peryton at the end, as with his 6 speed and flying he can dodge most of the opponent's Sneak attacks. But in the specific situation that this battle presented, (low mana) and (only land) this choice proved to be completely meaningless. I was defeated by my own bad choices. Does the game imitate life or does life imitate the game?

Results

It was a good brawl, we had 100 percent participation. We won 12 crowns and approximately 500 merits each.

But for me what was worth the most was the meeting we had on our discord after the brawl, where we organized a new way to choose players for frays. Each guild, I believe, should have its own way of organizing frays. We are testing some and I think this time it will work. But I'll tell you more about it in my next brawl report :)

Um pouquinho sobre o passado, ou ainda, Dor e Alegria

Minha jornada no Splinterlands começou em meados de outubro do ano passado (2021), quando tive uma reação a algo e desenvolvi uma coisa chama neuralgia do nervo trigêmeo, que é uma das maiores dores físicas que um ser humano pode sentir. Tive que abandonar alguns projetos da vida real, mas em contrapartida conheci esse jogo maravilhoso e essa comunidade fora de serie. Eu já sabia um pouco sobre blockchains, sempre acreditei no poder revolucionário da descentralização e amo jogos de todos os tipos, mas especialmente de cartas e estratégia então quando conheci a hive o splinterlands foi amor a primeira vista.

Eu mal tinha começado a jogar, a entender os mana caps, as regras, os metas de cada cor, mas já estava participando de torneios de novice e bronze e até ganhando um ou outro. Aqueles anos todos jogando Magic the Gathering na escola certamente me deram algum tipo de vantagem no começo, ainda que os dois jogos tenham dinâmicas completamente diferentes. Ai tive a brilhante ideia de abrir uma guilda, sem nem saber direito pra que uma guilda servia hahaha Paguei os 10000 DEC, e voilá, a Guilda Da Ordem Farpada estava criada. Minha ideia era montar um guilda focada na comunidade brasileira.

Alguns meses se passaram, muitas pessoas entraram e saíram e a guilda estava demorando muito para subir de nível. Então conversando com um amigo sobre como existem tantas guildas com o mesmo nome veio a ideia, porque não tentar um patrocinio com alguma delas? A primeira tentativa foi com a Peakmonsters, o melhor mercado de cartas de Splinterlands, e, surpreendentemente, eles foram muito solicitos e queridos e praticamente adotaram a gente. Deixamos de ser a Ordem Farpada, e nos tornamos a PeakMonsters Brasil.

BRAWL REPORT #1

Esse brawl foi um dos que eu tive menos batalhas. Tudo bem que a as Fray Gold Foil geralmente tem menos jogadores mesmo, mas dessa vez foi demais, ou melhor, de menos, porque so haviam mais 2 jogadores alem de mim.

Primeira Batalha

A primeira batalha já me deixou nervoso logo de cara, pois o pessoal da Immortal Gods sempre me proporciona batalhas complicadas, e pra piorar minha situação ele colocou uma carta Gladius no line up, o que eu quase nunca vejo:

IURIOMAGICO (PEAKMONSTER BRASIL) VS NEMORZ (IMMORTAL GODS 6)

Infelizmente, para ele nesse caso, simplesmente ter cartas boas nao foi o suficiente. O entendimento de como as cartas interagem entre elas e a habilidade de prever o deck do inimigo também sao fundamentais. Nessa batalha a habilidade de Escudo da Guerreira do Caos conseguiu brilhar ao máximo, reduzindo todos os ataques a zero, enquanto a Harpia Celestial destruía qualquer chance de regeneração da Venari Branca. Vitória tranquila.

Segunda Batalha

A segunda batalha chegou a ser engraçada, pois como voces podem reparar, usamos exatamente as mesmas cartas, a única coisa diferente foi a ordem em que elas foram colocadas. E aqui nas Terras Farpadas esse detalhe faz TODA a diferença.

EU vs Drillith (BEAST MODE)

Eu geralmente uso o Regal Peryton no final, pois com sua velocidade 6 e seu voar ele consegue desviar da maioria dos ataques Sneak do adversário. Porém na situação especifica que essa batalha apresentou, (pouca mana) e (somente terra) essa escolha se demonstrou completamente sem sentido. Fui derrotado pelas minhas próprias escolhas ruins. O jogo imita a vida ou a vida imita o jogo?

Resultados

Foi um bom brawl, tivemos 100 porcento de participação. Ganhamos 12 crowns e aproximadamente 500 méritos cada um.

Mas pra mim o que mais valeu foi a reuniao que fizemos no nosso discord depois do brawl, onde organizamos uma nova maneira de escolher os jogadores para as frays. Cada guilda, acredito, deva ter a sua maneira de organizar as frays. Nós estamos testando algumas e acho que dessa vez vai dar certo. Mas conto mais sobre isso no meu proximo brawl report :)
