This is pretty in-depth stuff... I sure hope it doesn't deter the newbies, but man alive it's full of cool things. I hope the SPS staking system is advertised a lot for upcoming marketing as it'll be a good way to attract more passive, low-spending players (and retain them too!)

It'll basically turn every player potentially into a passive miner who can get more active whenever they feel like it.
