My first weekly battle challenge themed around Pelacor Arbalest
The card
I think Pelacor Arbalest is one of the best rares of the Chaos Legion set. Pair him up with General Sloan and he becomes a real killing machine in low mana battles. Let's see such as battle!
The battle
The rules:
Low mana battle in silver league. If the life splinter is allowed then I always choose it!
I created the following team:
1. Pelacor Conjurer
The best tank for low mana battles. Its flying makes it harder to damage him and its magic reflect causes damage to the magic users of the opponent.
2. Gargoya Scrapper
Another line of defense against magic users. I've seen low mana battles where the enemy could damage the Gargoya Scrapper at all. Even if the enemy doesn't use wizards, it's still one monster to kill before they reach the Arbalest.
3. Pelacor Arbalest
Our star. All he has to do is kill all enemy monsters before they reach him. It may sound like a hard task, but it is usually not because of the double strike.
The opponent chose Thadius Brood and Cursed Windeku to protect against both magic and melee. Oh boy, worst decision ever against my team! Let's see the battle!
First round
When saw the enemy team I knew already that I have won. Windeku got 6 damage from the Arbalest and Life Sapper 1 from the magic reflect. Windeku also missed my Conjurer.
Second round
At the start of the second round, we can see that we knew all along. The enemy does not have a chance.
Conclusion
This strategy works most of the time, but it has weaknesses too. For example, if the enemy has sneak, then I wouldn't have a chance. Usually, I use life with Pelacor Arbalest as the last one in low mana battles and hope for the best.
