Hello everyone! Here's my entry for week 157 of the splinterlands community art contest.
Inspired in the character of Theorosa Nightshade
My main medium is hand-painting and hand-drawing. Since that is where I'm more skilled, I drew Theorosa nightshade and the moon behind her on paper.
Initially, I'll hand paint it with watercolor because that's what I'm used to and it's also my main medium for art. My partner, on the other hand, suggested that I should try digital paint because the majority of the participants do as well. Actually, I'm not used to digital painting; in fact, this is my first attempt at digital painting, and I'm very pleased with the results. I once watched a video on YouTube to learn the basics of digital painting. I hand-drew my desired art and photographed it,
and slightly clarified the details so I could see it clearly, and then I put it in Adobe Photoshop. I simply followed the steps I saw on YouTube and remembered it in a single glance. Also the other steps that I did in digital painting was just made-up,
as I also discovered how to use other tools in adobe so I just did trial and error.
My work initially appeared flat,
but I experimented with various tools to add volume to my art.
This experience has been enjoyable, and I've also discovered that I can do more than one medium of art, and that I can also be good at others. This is only the beginning; it is my first time attempting it, and I am confident in myself that my work is better compared to simply being good. This is inspired by my love of sceneries such as the sea and the moon, and I chose Theorosa as she is the appropriate character to be illuminated by the moon.
I did this art not only to participate in it, but also to learn about other mediums in the arts.
