Weekly Battle Challenge : Dragons ๐ฒ
Introduction ๐
Hello guys welcome to my blog. This week's battle challenge theme is Dragons. Dragon is one of the six summoner types available to us and in my view it's the most powerful as well. It's powerful because with the Dragon summoner we can use Monsters from any of the available Splinters. We also have Dragon cards which are really powerful. My one of the favourite combo is Delwyn Dragonscale with the water ๐ฆ magic team spam. I also like Arnak ๐ก๏ธ + Djinn Chwala combo for melee only matchups and that's what we are going to talk about in this post. In case you wanna read the Lore of Djinn Chwala here's the Link
Here are Level 1 stats of Djinn Chwala
Mana Cost - 8
Health โค๏ธ - 9
Speed - 2
Armor ๐ก๏ธ - 5
Damage ๐ก๏ธ - 2 Melee Damage
Ability - Thorns (Deals 2 damage when hit by melee monster)
Stats at other levels are follows :
๐ธ Current Market Stats ๐ธ
As of writing Price/BCX vary from $0.37 to $0.89. This card is a Reward card which as the name suggests is a card which gets Rewarded to us just for playing the game. But this is an Epic card so the drop rate isn't that high. I think value of this card will go up once the Reward changes are live because I expect no. of bots farming cards in lower leagues will decrease and as a result of that supply of rewards cards will decrease which should push the price up of this card. If you wanna check yourself here's the in-game Market Link.
Comparison With Other Cards
At level 1 there aren't many cards with Thorns ability. There is no other Dragon card with Thorns ability at level 1. As Dragon summoner allows you to use any card irrespective of their type I would say Cursed Windeku from Death team is somewhat similar to Djinn Chwala. Cursed Windeku is a 6 mana card while Djinn Chwala costs 8 mana. Only other difference being Armor which is a huge one. Djinn Chwala has 5 Armor while Windeku has none. Armor paired with Thorns is a great combo. There isn't much difference in price at higher levels but there is a difference of half a dollar at level 1.
Thorns ability at level 1 is uncommon. Tho there is a Earth summoner "Mylor Crowling" which gives thorns to every monster. Venari knifer of Earth team is the only other monster with Thorns at level 1.
Anyways Let's get into the battle. Here's the line up :
Summoners Used :
Ruleset ๐ :
(Explained from left to right)Silenced Summoner - Summoners can not give any buff/debuff/ability.
Up Close And Personal - Only Monsters with Melee Damage can be used.
Mana - 30
Splinters Allowed - Water, Life (Star icon), Death (skull icon) and Dragon.
๐ญ Thought process ๐ญ
Water - Water has a good melee team with high speed. Diemonshark with huge Armor in front paired with Deeplurker and Disintegretor could be a good team but it is still somewhat vulnerable to thorns. So I didn't go with it.
Life - As summoner were silenced I didn't see any point in going Life as I could use life cards with a dragon summoner. So I didn't go with it
Death - Death deck has Cursed Windeku which is a good tank with Thorns ability and Death has couple of good sneak attackers as well. I was thinking of going with it but I thought Djinn Chwala is a better tank than Windeku so I Didn't go with it.
Dragon - Dragon has Djinn Chwala which is excellent in Melee only matchups. Also I had rented a few cards for this particular Brawl as this brawl was pretty tough and If I hadn't rented these cards I would have lost majority of my battles. Carnage Titan was one of the rented cards which also has a lot of armor. So I had made up my of using Dragon summoner.
โ๏ธ Battle โ๏ธ
Round 1
My Gargoya Scrapper died in first turn which was expected as it was an fodder.
Silvershield Knight got a miss from enemy which I wasn't expecting.
Was able to get rid of enemy Chwala's armor.
Round 2
Because of Inspire ability of Silvershield Knight my cards were hitting like a truck especially Carnage Titan.
Got rid of enemy Chwala and my Djinn Chwala is still pretty healthy.
Silvershield knight took a beating from Deeplurker.
Round 3
Enemy's second monster died as well. Courtesy : Carnage Titan
Deeplurker is about to die as well. My cards are still pretty healthy.
Next round I should win easily.

Cards Used with explanations :
(All cards are level 1 and Battle is from Novice fray in Brawl)
I placed Gargoya Scrapper in the front as an soft tank/fodder as I was expecting opponent to go with high speed water monster. This was just an placeholder for Djinn Chwala.
At second position I placed Djinn Chwala as my main tank. Gargoya was going to die in first turn so Djinn Chwala would take the first spot. It's Thorns ability is very useful against melee damage dealers and the battle was Melee only so this card was a perfect fit in this Ruleset. Also it's a good tank with 5 Armor and 9 health.
At third position I placed Carnage Titan. It has a Reach and Double Strike ability so this card was going to be my main damage dealer. It has plenty of Armor as well so it could take a lot of beating from enemy before it goes down.
At fourth position I placed Silvershield Knight with Inspire Ability which increases Melee damage by one. I was worried that enemy would use a monster with Demoralize ability so I used Silvershield Knight to counter that but enemy didn't had a Demoralize monster so I had one extra damage for the whole matchup ๐
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Yep it did work out fine this time. Well that depends on ruleset.
Do you like the (monster)? Why or why not?
I like Dragon ๐ summoners a lot and I know that I am not the only one. It's versatility is one of the main selling point. You can use any available splinter cards with a Dragon Summoner. It has really cool monsters cards as well and there are plenty of heavy hitters in them as well. My personal Favourite โฃ๏ธ Summoner is Delwyn Dragonscale.
Thank You! For Visiting. Hope you have a good day.
