Top 5 EARTH Cards to Buy for Beginners

in #splinterlands3 years ago (edited)

Welcome guys to my first What to buy guide. I decided to cover this topic as there are a lot of new players and prices are increasing daily. It is hard to pick cards that are cheap and good to use. So I will try to help.

Today we will cover Earth Splinter as it seems to me that it is perfectly suited for the Bronze league.

EARTH TOP PICKS.jpg

#1 Wizard of Eastwood - To be honest my first pick would be Mylor Crawling but paying around 60 USD for one card when you are just starting is way too much.

If you would like to upgrade him to level two it will cost you around 300 USD. Wizard of Eastwood is an Untamed summoner and that means you can play him in the next expansion. His cost is around 7 USD which is ok considering current prices. His ability is -2 armor that is not as bad as it seems. In Untamed and Dice editions there are a lot of monsters with armor so his ability can come in handy.

#2 Nectar Queen - I love this card. It is a cheap card with great stats, though it costs nine mana. But hey you need that tank with high damage.

It is great in combination with Unicorn Mustang(starter card). You can use Nectar Queen in Reverse Speed and Odd cards matchups and Unicorn Mustang can be used in Normal Speed and Even matchups. Best of all is that is priced at 1 USD. Not bad!

#3 Centauri Mage - Interesting card! When playing in the Bronze league almost every Earth team uses Maylor. His only weakness is ranged monsters. And there Centauri Mage comes in handy. You will face a lot of ranged monsters so you want to reflect those attacks back to them.

You can play Centauri Mage as a tank, or how I play this card, as an off-tank/Snipe target. Decent health means that this card will survive few turns. At this moment it goes under 3 USD which seems like a good buy.

#4 Failed Summoner - I love this card. I use Failed Summoner in almost every game. For two mana you get five health tank/off-tank. Great value!

Bonus is Magic Reflect ability that will counter Water and kill those Pixies. I even recommend picking a few of those and level this card up. I believe that it will see some play in Chaos Legion too. You can pick him up for 1 USD. Seems like a steal considering other similar cards.

#5 Beatrix Ironhand - Most expensive card on this list but totally worth it. My main damage dealer with two attack and amazing speed.

The best thing is her Close Range ability which means that she can attack from the first spot. That way you don't need to worry if your tank will die too early. Currently, you can pick one up for around 12 USD. Not a bad price if you ask me.

I hope that you are enjoying Splinterlands. If you are new here, #splinterlands is the amazing #NFT trading card game with #play2earn model. That means you can have a lot of fun AND you can earn money (DEC - Dark Energy Crystals) at the same time. If you don't have an account yet consider registering with my link.

P.S. Buying these cards is not financial advice. I think those cards are good picks if you are just starting with Splinterlands. Before investing you should do your own research and invest based on that. Never let someone else affect your financial decisions.
