Resource Credits - what is RC and how to get more.

I started playing Splinterlands a few weeks back. Since i was beginner and didn't have much to invest renting was the the only option available to me. PeakMonsters became my go to place for looking at good deals to rent cards, but as many of you have experienced the cards would have already been rented by the time your transaction has gone through. After many such failed transactions is when i first saw the message "You don't have enough RC to broadcast the transaction". So what exactly is RC?

Resource Credits/RC basically determines how many transactions you are able to do on the HIVE blockchain. Your RC is 100% at the beginning and when you start doing transactions it gets reduced and would take 4-5 days to completely replenish back to 100%. It is there in place to ensure fair usage of the hive power.

The below are the following way to get RC.

1)Staking - You can increase your power by Staking HIVE. Staking a minimum of 5-10 Hive can go a long way.

If you see the below Image, i have staked/Power UP using the 5 Hive which i had.

2)Delegated RC - This is if you can get someone who was staked hive to delegate some of the resource credit to you.
https://giftgiver.site/ is one such site who provide free RC. I have tried this site and it mentioned at the present moment the delegation is full and please try after some time. so i can't say for sure if it will work.

3)Earn - Once you have some RC/Hive power, you can start making Posts/Blogs. Based on the Up votes you receive, you can earn token and 50% of it can be staked again to increase your RC/Hive power.

Thank you for reading.

I am new to blogging and this is my first post, requesting to provide your feedback for me to improve. As i had encountered the same problem, i wanted to start my first blog with this post.

Sort:

keep posting, post about splinterlands and earn more revenue supporting it! Great match today

Agreed, start with 5-10 hive staked to Hive Power but u can continue to write blog posts and eventually you will have enough.

Hello, @anandkj611! This is @anggreklestari from the @OCD team. We saw that you already posted your first post here in Hive Blockchain! Congratulations and welcome!

Well, you can explore the communities that are suitable for your content. You can read some of the communities in this post: OCD Communities Incubation Program

The important thing is Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog. You can't include content that you don't own without sources. For more information, check this post: Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise.

If you have questions or concerns, you can hop into OCD's Discord server and we'll gladly answer your questions.

Have a great day!

This is very helpful. Thanks for the tip 🙂

Thanks Solymi, will suerly checkout the tutorial..

Good post man! Though just to add on: you can also enter contests and events if you want some HIVE.

Splinterlands specifically has weekly share your battles and social media post events that they'll upvote in exchange for participating. can get around 1-3 HIVE per entry even after the 50% cut.

Its not just splinterlands related: there are other contests floating around too!

Appreciate the post. It helped out a lot
