WHY I AM STILL PLAYING SPLINTERLAND

In an almost 8 months of playing I came to ask myself why I’m still playing splinterland. Although I didn’t invest much money I invest what Dwayne Cunningham called time and attention.

Last year in the midst of pandemic, a play to earn games was on hype. It’s my first time playing internet games. I tried 2 NFT game before splinterland although I ended up on playing on splinterland only after two weeks.

The 3 reasons why I invest in this game are the same reasons why I am still playing Splinterland

1. The game is enjoyable – you don’t invest anything on something when you don’t enjoy or don't have fun on it. The first day I play splinterland what comes to my mind is that, this game is enjoyable and you need to use your brain. I enjoy this game I admit it and i even have more fun when you go to higher league as more abilities are unlock. And even more fun when you go for leaderboard and be part of it as you explore more strategies. Winning agains't the whales with million collection power gives you the adrenaline but then going for leaderboard is even more enjoyable beacause the feeling is different. Even more you got different mindset than normal playing.

2. Longevity of the game – in my opinion this game will stay. I believe in this game. I believe it is still in an early stage and still got a lot of potential out there. Watching Dwayne Cunningham youtube , I learned that this game was there long before 2018 I guess, that means it experience a lot of ups and downs. Secondly the team behind it are very good at what they do. Doing townhalls weekly is I sign of existence for me, the answers to your questions are mostly in there.

3. Potential Growth – in the pretext of if you plant something one day you have something to harvest. I believe if your vision is not for longterm this may not for you. That’s why this game will last longterm in my opinion. Put yourself in a 4 years scenario – if you keep playing and keeping the rewards and not selling them except for flipping I believe your account will slowly grow just by playing and having fun at anytime you want. But then Splinteland got a lot of ways to grow your account such as winning ranked battles, doing daily quest and having end season reward chest, tournaments, brawl leaderboard, staking , trading and blogging and others you can mention it. Keep doing this and little by little you will be surprised on what little things can do over a period of time.

I give an example, as to how I was able to grow my collection power to 100k is card flipping. At the beginning, my concept is to play ranked battles and keep those reward cards or sell at higher cost then use it to buy 10 cards at lower cost then sell those 9 cards to offset the expenses and owned that 1 card and repeat again. By keep doing this you will not realize and one day you will be surprised on how things adds up.
