Malachi 3:5-6 (KJV)

5And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts. 6For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

James 1:17 (NKJV)
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Reflections:

A lot of true bible-believing Christians believe that somehow God changed His mind between the Old and the New Testament. That the fierce God of judgment and severe justice in the Old Testament somehow repented and that now somehow He’s nicer, softer and gentler. Truth of the matter is He’s always been nice, soft and gentle to those who have loved, honored and obeyed Him. But to those who hadn’t, His punishment was sometimes unimaginable. The writer of the book of Hebrews wrote, “It’s a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the Living God (Heb 10:31).”

No, God hasn’t changed, not even a little bit. He hated sin in the Old Testament dispensation, and He still hates sin just as much in this post New Testament dispensation. Only difference is that now He’s restrained by His own self-imposed grace and mercy expressed through a loving invitation to receive the sacrifice of His sinless Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Make no mistake about it; justice will one day prevail and “the God who changes not” will stand as judge when the books are finally opened. The Christ rejecters and unsaved folks will be judged out of it according to their sin. Their punishment will be unfathomable as the Lake of Fire licks its salivating lips and opens its fiery throat in anticipation of its long awaited banquet.

I think I’ll pass … thank you Jesus!!!unnamed (9).jpg
