Matthew 9:20-22 (NKJV)
20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
(You can also read of Mark’s account of this same incredible healing in Mk5:25-34.)
Reflections:
To this woman, who was so sick for twelve years, touching Jesus was all that mattered. She forced her way through the crowed that was thronging Jesus and desperately stretched out her arm as far as she could reach toward the Savior until her faith’s touch met with the hem of Jesus’ garment. And immediately it happened! She was made whole! Just think, no more bleeding! No more doctors! I can just hear her now, “Oh, thank you Jesus!” “Thank you Jesus!”
Truth be known, (whether we’re a believer or not) touching Jesus is all that matters.
Whether it’s spiritual healing (getting saved), physical healing, emotional healing, a desire to minister to people – whatever it is, touching Jesus is all that matters.
We can, at any time, stretch out our desperate arm by faith until we too touch the very hem of His garment, and come to know for certain that, yes “touching Jesus is all that matters …”
