2 Samuel 22:26-27 (AMP)

26 Toward the loving and loyal You will show Yourself loving and loyal, and with the upright and blameless You will show Yourself upright and blameless. 27 To the pure You will show Yourself pure, and to the willful You will show Yourself willful.

Reflections:

The above is a small portion of a song King David wrote to glorify God on the day when the Lord had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. In it he speaks of God’s conditional responses.

This sounds like a strong correlation to 2 Cor 9:6:

“[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.”

The difference being that in today’s verse we are considering God’s responses to us, and in 2 Cor 9:6 we are considering our responses to one another. Once again we’re brought back to the truth that we are created in God’s image; love, integrity, purity, giving and blessing.

Our problem of course is sin and so these responses don’t flow from us like they do from God. We have to constantly be reminded through the reading of God’s written word, the leading of the Holy Spirit and fellowship with the saints (God’s born-again company of believers).

The wonder of it all is that when we do function in our heart, like God desires of us, we find wonderful peace, blessing, and unity. We must remember that His word never comes back void …unnamed (1).jpg
