A day in the presence of God is a fullfilled day.
God intention of creating man is for man to serve him in life and after which, he returns to him in eternity.
Today! at church we were told to keep our self pure if our hope is to make heaven as seen in 1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Having at the back of our mind the purpose of us attending church daily is focus on making Heaven at last.
The message was considered under two points
Point1: The category of people that have not the mind of christ, a corrupt mind.
This category people come to church just to be served, they are always at the recieving end not on serving the lord.
They are the hearers on the word and not it doers, they want to serve God the way they want to.
They have their minds polluted by their actions and reactions.
James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
They display carefree attitude towards observing the ways of God, his principles and rebuke not knowing rebuke is a way of learning and part of discipline.
Point 2: The category of people who are Heavenly minded.
These set of believers are people that come to church with the right intention.
They see the church as a Hospital, and they are sick of of a particular disease and so need healing.
They do not serve God for the gain only but they serve him because they love him.
Such people their minds have actually be made pure due to constant diligent, deliberate efforts of subjection to God and his ways.
As seen in Mark 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Such people are readyly forgiving and excusing wrongs, they are always inward looking, they judge themselves with the knowledge of
1 Corinthians 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged..
Finally, keeping our selves pure will qualify us to be heaven canditate.
And to be pure, it takes conscious constant deliberate effort of sacrifice to remain pure by watching our Words, Actions, Thought, Company and Habits.
We must be pure, it is not negotiable because Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
I hope you are blessed by the message. Thanks for reading.
