Mirror

Contemplating nihilism; deliberately staring into the abyss; honestly examining the mental and spiritual recesses shown to oneself during the dark night of the soul. Look in, but don't fall in. Don't let the reflections become the reality. If the mirror must break, let it break; but don't let the shards slice you.
Each fragment is its own point of contemplation. Choose wisely; each piece contains a lifetime's worth of experience to study. The bright and shiny ones aren't always the best to examine, they're usually shallow. The ugly ones, scuffed and scarred, scraped and pitted; they appear so because they have traveled longer and known hardship.
Learn that which cannot be taught.
