Benidorm New Year & NUDITY: LOSE Your COOL In SPAIN-In With The SANGRIA And Out Oops “Off” With The?

in #spanish7 years ago (edited)

Hi everyone I’m back… back on steemit that is. Finally settled into my holiday apartment in Benidorm where I am to stay for the next 4 weeks. I’m not going to lie, although the sun is shining it is not what you would say is COOL for this time of year, but rather feckin COLD… how cold? Too cold to go skinny dipping if that answers your question. Nevertheless, it’s going to be a good day because today I celebrate 46 years of marriage to my husband…. Oops silly me because who else would I celebrate it with.

First things first before venturing outside today, and something I never normally do while in Spain is, to put my coat and scarf on, before walking down to the beautiful cove Of La Cala and look at the ocean, thinking NOT how beautiful the ocean is to look at but rather thanking God I don’t have to get in it. Some holiday this is going to be Lol.

Having said this and with it being this time of year, and although in Spain, some things that we still do as normal is to drink booze, where we let our hair down and the New Year in.

NEW YEAR

Note: At midnight, it’s typical to see the people of Scotland raise a glass of whiskey to let in the New Year, while, in Ireland, Paddy, a glass of Guinness, but where I come from if its alcoholic, it’s getting raised---ha-ha, but, seeing that I am on Spanish soil then it’s a SANGRIA Happy New Year to everyone in England.

P.S. It’s funny how one glass to many of. Sangria has you see things in a different light, because now that OCEAN looks so inviting. Now all I must do is find a safe place on the beach to leave my coat and scarf… he he.

I love la cala! You and my partner are definitely kindred spirits! She has been in the sea this month :) you must come and see us before you go home, we're not far from Benidorm.

Hi and thank you for showing interest in this post. So if your partner is as you say (kindred spirited) then I guess if my clothes do go missing on the beach, I could very likely be looking at your partner being the culprit.. hehe Take Care

hee hee. I take it you know where the nudist beach is? I was swimming at Vila Joiosa this time last week and it wasn't too bad at all.

Sadly I don't know where the nudist beach is, but I'm pretty sure if given the directions my SAT NAV can take me there... LOL take care

I am not sure it will be on SatNav but I can tell you ... you have to go on the 332 towards Vila Joiosa and then you turn off left just where the abandoned casino is and then you kind of wind your way over the hill and down to the beach. In July and August there is a chiringuito there but at the moment it will be pretty desolate. Nice in summer though ;-)

Its not something that I have ever looked for before is a nudist beach, and if I'm to be honest I have in the past come across one accidentally, and as I scurried away I couldn't help but keep looking over my shoulder LOL . Not that I ever think I would have the guts to do this, but if for any reason I had no choice but to involve myself... it would have to be when you say, and that being when its pretty desolate. hehe Take Care
