Soy docente y quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia sobre uno de los estudiantes de mi colegio: Gabriel, quien actualmente tiene 12 años. El fue un niño diagnosticado con síndrome de Asperger. Fue inscrito en 1º grado a la edad de 6 años. No era la primera que el colegio recibía a estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales, pero él era y sigue siendo un niño muy especial, no solo por su condición; sino porque inmediatamente se ganó el corazón de todas sus docentes. Desde que Gabriel inició su 1º grado, fuí testigo de como sus maestras se esmeraron por: hacerle un plan de trabajo, lograra las competencias educativas para ser promovido de grado,
sensibilizaran a sus compañeros para que fuera aceptado, respetado y valorado. Todas sus docentes lograron que Gabriel, dejara de ser un niño a quien no le agradaba socializar, por su misma condición, a que participara en los juegos con sus compañeros en los minutos de receso; sus habilidades sociales han mejorado considerablemente. Hoy, Gabriel abraza a sus maestras, directivos y a algunos de sus compañeros. El día viernes 13 de julio, en un lindo y sencillo acto de promoción, presencié como Gabriel obtuvo su certificado de Educación Primaria y un reconocimento por la constancia y el esfuerzo demostrado durante sus años de estudios en ese nivel educativo. Los especialistas instruyen y dan sugerencias a los docentes de como abordar a éstos niños, recomendaciones que son valiosas y deben ser consideradas; no obstante, el amor incondicional de sus padres y familiares, la paciencia, entrega y dedicación de sus docentes es lo que hará de Gabriel un joven brillante. No fue fácil, pero queda la satisfación de haber contribuido con su formación y educación. Próximamente, él iniciará sus estudios de bachillerato. A los futuros profesores de Gabriel y de cualquier otro estudiante diagnosticado con Asperger, sean cariñosos, tranquilos, premien sus logros, denle su espacio cuando se frustre, elaboren un plan de trabajo flexible y personalizado, establezcan metas a corto plazo, pero sobre todo sean muy pero my pacientes porque formar y educar a un estudiante Asperger es un gran desafío.

I am a teacher and I want to share with you a wonderful experience about one of the students of my school. Gabriel, he is a child diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome and was enrolled in 1st grade at the age of 6 years. It was not the first time that the school receives students with special educational needs, but he was and still is a very special child, not only because of his condition; but because he immediately won the hearts of all his teachers. Since Gabriel started his 1st grade, I witnessed how each of his teachers took great pains so that he not only achieved the educational competencies to be promoted by grade level, but also how they worked hard to establish a work plan,
how they sensitized their classmates so that he would be accepted, respected and valued. All of his teachers made Gabriel, from being a child who did not like to socialize, by his very condition, to participate in games with his peers in the minutes of recess, it is apparent that his social skills improved considerably. Today he embraces his teachers, directors and some of his classmates. On Friday, July 13, in a beautiful and simple act of promotion, I witnessed how Gabriel obtained not only his certificate of Primary Education, but also an acknowledgment for his perseverance and effort demonstrated during his years of studies at that educational level. Many specialists instruct and give suggestions to teachers on how to approach these children, recommendations that are valuable and should be considered; Despite the unconditional love of their parents and relatives, the patience, dedication of their teachers is what will make Gabriel a brilliant young man. It was not easy, but it remains the satisfaction of having contributed with his training and education. Soon, he will begin his baccalaureate studies. To the future teachers of Gabriel and of any other student diagnosed with Asperger, be calm, affectionate, reward their achievements, give him their space when he get frustrated, develop a flexible and personalized work plan, establish short-term goals but above all be very patients because training and educating a student Asperger is a great challenge.
